Predictive validity of the functional capacity of the CUPAX questionnaire in older adults with hip fracture.
Osteoporotic hip fracture is a relevant pathology due to its prevalence and social and health impact. The aim of this study is to explore the predictive validity of the CUPAX questionnaire on mortality, place of residence and post-fracture functionality. ⋯ These findings support the clinical utility of the CUPAX questionnaire as a predictive functional tool in elderly patients with hip fracture.

One of the potential negative effects of a lockdown are changes in dietary and lifestyle patterns, which can lead to weight gain. Our objective was to assess the changes on dietary habits and eating patterns in a lockdown situation and their impact on weight. We aimed to determine whether the treatment with GLP1 analogues (aGLP1) could impact on these parameters. ⋯ A lockdown is a vulnerable period to gain weight, especially in those patients with a psychopathological history. aGLP1 manage to control emotional eating, making them a valuable therapeutic option.

Anti-neutrophil cytoplasm antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is a rare and life-threatening autoimmune disease. Immunoadsorption (IA) is a potential approach in treating AAV. ⋯ Although both kidneys suffered severe deterioration requiring long-term hemodialysis replacement therapy, their pulmonary function was restored. Furthermore, clinical and serological symptoms of the disease were successfully controlled. Consequently, IA treatment may quickly remove IgG and ANCA to efficiently control clinical symptoms, especially in patients presenting with alveolar hemorrhaging and acute renal failure.

The modified Glasgow prognostic score (mGPS) has been reported to have a prognostic value in various patient populations. However, the prognostic significance of mGPS has not been studied inacute pulmonary embolism (APE). ⋯ This study demonstrates the mGPS, which is a new and easily measurable marker, is a useful predictor in-hospital mortality in hemodynamically stableAPE.
