Patients with multiple myeloma who present with refractory disease or relapse after receiving the main classes of available drugs -immunomodulators, proteasome inhibitors and antibodies against CD38- do not have satisfactory therapeutic alternatives. New treatments based on the redirection of T lymphocytes to act directly against tumor cells, such as bispecific antibodies and T cells with chimeric antigen receptors, are changing this scenario. ⋯ However, these therapies also present specific characteristics and medium or long-term toxicities that pose new healthcare challenges. In this review, we address the current results and future challenges of the administration of these treatments in patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.

Review Meta Analysis
The effect of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents on systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hemodialysis patients: A systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical trials.
Anemia is a common condition in end-stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. Erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) are commonly used to treat anemia in these patients. However, concerns have been raised regarding their potential effects on blood pressure. This systematic review and meta-analysis aim to investigate the relationship between ESAs and changes in systolic and diastolic blood pressure in hemodialysis patients. ⋯ Based on the findings of our study, it appears that receiving ESAs is associated with a significant increase in both SBP and DBP in hemodialysis patients, with an increase of about 5mmHg.

Observational Study
Impact of systemic therapies on SARS-CoV-2 antibody seroprevalence in patients with immune-mediated diseases.
To determine the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in patients with immune-mediated inflammatory diseases (IMID) treated with biologic (bDMARDs) or synthetic targeted disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (tsDMARDs). ⋯ Patients on treatment with TNFα inhibitors have better humoral response compared to the other b/tsDMARDs. However, when associated with methotrexate the seroprevalence decreases significantly.

This study aims to assess the clinical, radiological, and histological characteristics of Actinomyces infection identified in appendectomy specimens. ⋯ Ileocecal and appendecular actinomycosis are rare, and preoperative diagnosis is difficult. A definitive diagnosis is usually made after a histopathological examination. After surgery, long-term antimicrobial treatment of the patient is possible with penicillin.
