Observational StudyScreening for coronavirus disease 2019 in pregnant women admitted for delivery: an observational study.
The aim of this study was to examine the impact of symptom-based screening on the prevalence and outcomes of neonatal coronavirus disease 2019 in pregnant women admitted for delivery. ⋯ Universal screening of pregnant women admitted for delivery can reduce the perinatal transmission of coronavirus disease 2019. Symptom-based screening can be an alternative for regions with a low prevalence of the disease where a better allocation of financial resources is necessary.

Observational StudyProgrammed cell death protein 1 is a marker for neoadjuvant chemotherapy response in triple-negative breast cancer.
Tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes are detectable in up to 75% of triple-negative breast cancer. The composition of these infiltrates may influence prognosis and is not known regarding regulatory or effector lymphocytes. The objectives of this study were to describe and quantify the composition of the tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes before and after chemotherapy (neoadjuvant chemotherapy) and to evaluate their association with complete pathological response and overall survival. ⋯ In this study, we observed that chemotherapy significantly increases stromal tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, CD8 T cells, as well as CD8/FoxP3 ratio. Most importantly, programmed cell death protein 1 expression before neoadjuvant chemotherapy positively correlates with pathological response suggesting the use of programmed cell death protein 1 as a prognostic marker before neoadjuvant chemotherapy.

Evaluation of the efficacy of systemic inflammatory indices in determining mortality in very low birth weight infants.
In our study, we aimed to investigate whether systemic inflammatory indices could be an indicator of mortality in very low birth weight (<1,500 g) preterm infants. ⋯ We have shown that low systemic immune-inflammation index value in very low birth weight preterm infants may be a novel systemic inflammatory index that can be used to predict mortality.

Use of the Oswestry Disability Index in ankylosing spondylitis.
The Oswestry Disability Index is considered the gold standard in the evaluation of disability in patients with chronic mechanical back pain. The aim of this study was to assess the applicability of Oswestry Disability Index in patients with ankylosing spondylitis and its relationship with disease assessment parameters for ankylosing spondylitis. ⋯ Evaluation of Oswestry Disability Index in conjunction with Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index may warn the physician to interpret high Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index scores in the context of mechanical pain. Therefore, the use of Oswestry Disability Index in patients with ankylosing spondylitis will be beneficial.

Revisiting femoral cartilage thickness in cases with Hashimoto's thyroiditis in thyroidology: a single institute experience.
Hashimoto's thyroiditis, also known as chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis or autoimmune thyroiditis, is a considerable part of the spectrum of chronic autoimmune thyroid gland disorders which is pathologically associated with various degrees of lymphocytic infiltration. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate whether cartilage thickness is affected in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis or not in thyroidology. ⋯ As a consequence, no obvious connection between autoimmune markers and cartilage thickness in patients with Hashimoto's thyroiditis was recognized. Although the diverse manifestation of Hashimoto's thyroiditis could be observed, it seems to be no liaison between thyroid autoimmunity and cartilage thickness.
