Endometriosis-associated ovarian cancers (EAOCs) including endometrioid and clear cell ovarian carcinoma are subgroups of epithelial ovarian carcinomas (EOCs), which is generally acknowledged as the most lethal gynecological malignancy. Endometriosis (ES), a common clinical disease among women, presents with clinical symptoms of pelvic pain, infertility, or adnexal masses with the formation of endometrioma. It has long been considered to be a potential risk factor for developing EOCs, mainly of endometrioid and clear cell subtypes. ⋯ Nine genes related to inflammasome complex and inflammasome-related pathway were identified, indicating the importance of inflammation/immunity in EAOC transformation. We also collect progressive treatments of EAOC focused on targeted therapies and immunotherapy so far. This summarized information can contribute toward effective detection and treatment of EAOCs in the future.

The aim of this report was to review experience from a single hospital in treating ureteral obstruction related to endometriosis with robot-assisted laparoscopic ureteral reconstruction. ⋯ Our experience proves the feasibility and efficacy of a robot-assisted approach for this rare situation with good outcomes.

Like DNA and proteins, RNA is subject to numerous (over 160) covalent modifications which play critical roles to regulate RNA metabolism. Among these modifications, N-methyladenosine (mA) is the most prevalent RNA methylation on mRNA which occurs on around 25% of transcripts. ⋯ RNA mA is regulated and exerts its functions by three groups of "mA RNA modifiers" including mA methyltransferases (writers), mA demethylases (erasers), and mA binding proteins (readers). In this review, we would summarize and discuss the current understandings of the roles of the conventional mA RNA modifiers in human cancers.

Reverse hybrid therapy achieves a similar eradication rate as standard hybrid therapy for Helicobacter pylori infection.
Reverse hybrid therapy is a simplified hybrid treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection. It achieves a higher eradication rate than standard triple therapy. This study aimed to compare the efficacies of reverse hybrid and hybrid therapies in the treatment of H. pylori infection. ⋯ Reverse hybrid therapy can achieve a similar eradication rate to hybrid therapy for H. pylori infection.

The relationship between adenovirus infection and Kawasaki disease (KD) is unclear. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between adenovirus infection and KD using a cohort study in Taiwan. ⋯ An association between previous adenovirus infection and KD was identified in Taiwanese children, but other potential risk factors were not fully analyzed. The relationship between infection and KD requires further study.
