To compare image quality and diagnostic performance for detecting local recurrence (LR) of prostate cancer after radical prostatectomy (RP) between standard dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and a high spatiotemporal resolution, continuously acquired Golden-angle RAdial Sparse Parallel acquisition employing compressed sensing reconstruction ("GRASP"). ⋯ Although requiring larger studies, high spatiotemporal resolution GRASP achieved substantially better image quality and diagnostic performance than standard DCE for detecting LR in patients with elevated PSA after prostatectomy.

MRI for appendicitis in pregnancy: is seeing believing? clinical outcomes in cases of appendix nonvisualization.
The primary objective of this study was to determine the clinical outcomes in cases of appendix nonvisualization with MRI in pregnant patients with suspected appendicitis and the implications of appendix nonvisualization for excluding appendicitis. ⋯ Despite only moderate level of interobserver agreement for appendix visualization, appendix nonvisualization on MRI in pregnant patients with suspected appendicitis confers a significant reduction in the risk of appendicitis compared to all comers as long as the study is adequate diagnostic quality and there are no secondary signs of appendicitis present.

Pregnant patients can receive allergy premedication prior to a contrast-enhanced computed tomography exam if the exam is indicated. The risks and benefits of allergy premedication for pregnant patients will be discussed, as well as imaging strategies for the pregnant patient with a contrast allergy. Alternative imaging including ultrasound, noncontrast magnetic resonance imaging, or noncontrast computed tomography can be diagnostic depending on the clinical scenario and is usually preferred, allowing physicians to avoid giving allergy premedication in pregnancy, a 13 h delay, and risking a breakthrough reaction.

Hepatic resection is the only potentially curative treatment for patients with colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM). Many multidisciplinary approaches, including the associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) procedure, have been proposed to increase the resectability rate in these patients. ALPPS is the most recently described staged liver resection technique, representing an advantageous strategy to induce a rapid and marked increase in the future liver remnant (FLR) volume. The aim of this article is to describe the radiological evaluation of this procedure and its variation. ⋯ The ALPPS procedure is an emerging form of two-stage hepatectomy. In this context, radiologists should provide crucial preoperative and perioperative information that may change surgical planning and contribute to an improvement in the oncologic outcome.

Comparison of PI-RADS 2, ADC histogram-derived parameters, and their combination for the diagnosis of peripheral zone prostate cancer.
The purpose of this study was to compare the PI-RADS V2 scores, ADC histogram-derived parameters, and their combination for the diagnosis of clinically significant peripheral zone prostate cancer (PCa). ⋯ DWI PI-RADS V2 score may a better predictor of clinically significant PCa than the overall PI-RADS V2 score, but its diagnostic performance was not significantly improved by the addition of objective ADC value measurements.
