Long QT syndrome (LQTS) is characterized by reduced penetrance and variable QT prolongation over time, resulting in an estimate of 25% carriers of a pathogenic mutation with a normal corrected QT (QTc) interval on the resting electrocardiogram (ECG). ⋯ QTi derived from Holter recordings is superior to conventional QTc measured from a standard 12-lead ECG in predicting the mutation carrier state in families with LQTS.

Limited data exist on cryoablation of atrial fibrillation (Cryo-AF) using the newly available third-generation (Arctic Front Advance-Short Tip [AFA-ST]) cryoballoon. ⋯ Cryo-AF using the AFA-ST cryoballoon offers an enhanced ability to assess time to pulmonary vein isolation, allowing for fewer cryoapplications and shorter left atrial dwell time and procedure time. Consequently, this allowed for procedural completion more frequently using a "single-shot" PV ablation with equivalent safety and efficacy.

Superior vena cava (SVC) perforation is a rare but potentially fatal complication of transvenous lead removal. ⋯ Endovascular temporary balloon occlusion may be a feasible option to reduce blood loss, maintain hemodynamic control, and provide a bridge to surgery after SVC injury.
