[Public health and eradication of infection by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus].
The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is integrated into the cellular genome remaining active or latent indefinitely. Antiretroviral therapy suppresses viral replication to undetectable levels but does not eradicate the virus. ⋯ We need to promote Public Health with the necessary human and economic tools to achieve eradication. The sole development of effective therapeutic strategies will not prevent the human immunodeficiency virus from continuing among us if we do not promote and develop Public Health.

[Treatment for children and adolescents with pain in Spain: data from a survey on current specialized programs].
The treatment of children and adolescents with pain has improved considerably in the last 30 years. In Spain, progress is also evident, and specialized units or programs have emerged as part of the care provided for this population. However, there are no studies on the characteristics or activities of these specialized units or programs. This lack of information prevents an adequate evaluation of the current procedures, and hinders an adequate administration and management of these resources. The objective of this work was to study the characteristics of these units and programs for the treatment of children and adolescents with pain in Spain. ⋯ This survey provides valuable information on the current characteristics of specialized programs and units for the treatment of children and adolescents with pain in Spain, and can be used to propose actions that improve its current management and administration.

[Physicians' awareness and assessment of shared decision making in oncology practice.]
Implementation of Shared Decision Making (SDM) in oncology is limited. The objective of the study was to determine the extent of physicians' awareness of Shared Decision Making (SDM) in their treatment of cancer patients, the usefulness that they assign to SDM, the role they play, their assessment of SDM, and perceptions of the main barriers and facilitators to its use. ⋯ Some 82% of physicians have no training in SDM and 66% don´t use it in practice, with decisions on treatment taken mainly by the physicians themselves. Strategies to increase training in SDM and to implement it into clinical practice are important.

[Health services utilization in Primary Care in patients with chronic conditions according to risk levels].
Chronic patients suffer a greater number of health problems and have greater needs for assistance and care. The objective was to describe the use of health services in Primary Care in patients with chronic conditions according to risk level by adjusted morbidity groups (AMG) and analyze the associated factors. ⋯ The health services utilization in Primary Care in chronic patients is high and increased according with the risk level by AMG. The contact with the doctor is superior to nurse and the most frequent type is face-to-face. The greater utilization of services responds to predisposing factors (female sex and age) and above all to need factors (high risk, immobility, multimorbidity and polypharmacy).
