May minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis be an alternative to intramedullary nailing in selected spiral oblique and spiral wedge tibial shaft fractures?
This study aims to compare intramedullary nailing (IMN) and minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) treatment methods in Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) 42A1 & 42B1 selected tibial shaft fractures. ⋯ Results of the study showed that both treatment methods are similar regarding clinical and functional outcomes. According to these results, MIPO can be recommended as an alternative to IMN in tibial shaft fractures formed as spiral oblique and spiral wedge.

Ultrasound-guided versus blind subacromial corticosteroid and local anesthetic injection in the treatment of subacromial impingement syndrome: A randomized study of efficacy.
This study aims to compare the effects of ultrasound (US)-guided and blind subacromial corticosteroid and local anesthetic (LA) injection in the treatment of subacromial impingement syndrome (SIS) on shoulder pain, range of motion (ROM), and functionality. ⋯ Both US-guided and blind subacromial steroid injection improve shoulder pain, ROM, and functionality in SIS; one treatment option was not found to be superior to the other. Therefore, blind injection can be performed in clinical settings where US is not available. Equally, blind injection can also be performed in patients who have a definite diagnosis of SIS based on clinical and MRI findings.

Comparison of cannulated lag screws and lateral locking plate in the treatment of Schatzker type II tibial plateau fractures.
This study aims to compare the clinical and radiological outcomes of the two fixation methods frequently used in the treatment of Schatzker type II fractures: lag screw fixation and lateral anatomic plate fixation. ⋯ Treatment of Schatzker type II tibial plateau fractures with lag screws seems to provide less invasive, cheaper, and faster surgical treatment as compared with lateral locking plate fixation. In addition, patients who underwent internal fixation with lag screws had similar clinical and radiological outcomes with those who underwent lateral locking plate fixation.
