The neuro-protective and tissue-protective properties of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) have been demonstrated through treating bilateral cavernous nerve (CN) injury in rats, although the underlying mechanisms have not been fully clarified. ⋯ This study provides evidence for the role of CXCL5 and CXCR2 as mediators of PRP effects in the preservation of EF after CN injury. To date, a comprehensive state-by-state assessment of transgender transition-related health care coverage for gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) and genital gender-affirming surgery (GAS) has not been reported. ⋯ Our findings show that only 34 of 51 (67%) states' Medicaid programs include GAHT and 25 of 51 (49%) include GAS as covered benefits. Our experience suggests that the process to confirm coverage can be especially time-consuming and frustrating for patients. Zaliznyak M, Jung EE, Bresee C, et al. Clinically Meaningful Reduction in Dyspareunia Is Associated With Significant Improvements in Health-Related Quality of Life Among Women With Moderate to Severe Pain Associated With Endometriosis: A Pooled Analysis of Two Phase III Trials of Elagolix.
Dyspareunia experienced by women diagnosed with endometriosis is associated with a decreased health-related quality of life (HRQoL). ⋯ Clinically meaningful responses in dyspareunia are associated with improvements across multiple HRQoL domains among women with endometriosis. Agarwal SK, Soliman AM, Pokrzywinski RM, et al. Premature ejaculation (PE) and anejaculation (AJ) are 2 opposite disorders of male ejaculatory dysfunction. Recent studies have demonstrated that the process of ejaculation is mediated by certain neural circuits in the brain. However, different mechanisms between PE and AJ are still unclear. ⋯ The findings demonstrated that altered ALFF of frontal, parietal cortex, and putamen might help distinguish premature ejaculation from anejaculation. Abnormal function of these brain regions might play a critical role in the physiopathology of ejaculatory dysfunction of patients. Chen J, Yang J, Huang X, et al. Brain Functional Biomarkers Distinguishing Premature Ejaculation From Anejaculation by ALFF: A Resting-State fMRI Study. J Sex Med 2020;17:2331-2340.

The experience of distressing low sexual interest/arousal-female sexual interest/arousal disorder (FSIAD)-is prevalent in women of all ages and is associated with poorer sexual, relationship, and psychological well-being than women without this difficulty. Women who are partnered are almost 5 times more likely to be distressed by low desire and to receive a diagnosis of FSIAD than unpartnered women, indicating that interpersonal factors are highly relevant, although largely neglected in past research. ⋯ More positive responses to women's low sexual interest/arousal by partners is linked to better adjustment among couples affected by FSIAD. Partner Responses to Low Desire: Associations With Sexual, Relational, and Psychological Well-Being Among Couples Coping With Female Sexual Interest/Arousal Disorder. J Sex Med 2020;17:2168-2180.
