Women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) have a higher prevalence of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) than the general population. PCOS and NAFLD have common metabolic risk factors, however, the role of diet in NAFLD development is still uncertain in PCOS women. ⋯ PCOS women with coexistent NAFLD had higher BMI, WC and were less physically active than those without NAFLD. Dietary evaluation showed that PCOS women with NAFLD had no significant difference in macro and micronutrients or food group intake and diet quality in comparison to those without NAFLD.

COVID-19 is associated with an elevated risk of thromboembolism and excess mortality. Difficulties with best anticoagulation practices and their implementation motivated the current analysis of COVID-19 patients who developed Venous Thromboembolism (VTE). ⋯ Proven VTE incidence in this severe COVID-19 cohort was 7.7%, despite 87% of them complying completely with VTE prophylaxis. The clinician must be aware of the diagnosis of VTE in COVID-19, even in patients receiving proper prophylaxis.

With improvements in care for people with Cystic Fibrosis (pwCF), total survival after Lung Transplantation (LTx) will be longer. Therefore, this population's up-to-date analysis of late-onset post-transplant metabolic and vascular complications will be more relevant in current clinical practice. ⋯ This study shows that the prevalence of cardiovascular risk factors increases after LTx for CF, potentially leading to major complications. These data emphasize the necessity of regular check-ups for metabolic and vascular complications after LTx with specific attention to renal damage. Early recognition of these complications is crucial and will lead to earlier intervention, which could lead to improved prognosis after lung transplantation.
