Efficacy, safety, and potential industry bias in using deoxycholic acid for submental fat reduction ‒ A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.
Lipolytic substance injections to reduce localized fat have been extensively used because it is a low-invasive method. This review aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of deoxycholic acid in submental fat reduction compared to a placebo and investigate the potential industry sponsorship bias in the results of randomized clinical trials on this topic. Ten electronic databases were extensively searched for randomized clinical trials without restriction on language and year of publication. ⋯ The meta-analysis showed that patients treated with deoxycholic acid had significant positive results for all efficacy outcomes and a higher risk of fibrosis, pain, erythema, numbness, swelling, edema, pruritus, nodules, headache, and paresthesia. The low to moderate certainty of evidence found allows concluding that deoxycholic acid is effective in submental fat reduction, causing well-tolerated adverse effects. However, all eligible studies showed a potential industry bias.

Lung transplantation represents the definite treatment for CF patients with advanced-stage pulmonary disease. Recent major developments in the treatment of CF indicate the need for an evaluation of lung transplantation as the current best practice in end-stage disease. This systematic review was performed to evaluate the impact of lung transplantation on health-related quality of life in patients with CF. ⋯ Lung transplantation conveys improved HRQoL to CF patients with the advanced-stage pulmonary disease for up to five years, and to levels comparable to the general population and non-waitlisted CF patients. This systematic review quantifies, using current evidence, the improvements in HRQoL gained by CF patients following lung transplantation.

Microablative fractional radiofrequency for sexual dysfunction and vaginal Trophism: A randomized clinical trial.
To evaluate Microablative Fractional Radiofrequency (MAFRF) as a possible option in treating vaginal atrophy. ⋯ Radiofrequency was comparable in efficacy to estrogen administration for treating vulvovaginal atrophy. It deserves consideration as a viable option in managing this condition.

The incidence of cerebellar Glioblastoma Multiforme (cGBM) is rare. Database like TCGA have not distinguish cGBM from GBM, our knowledge on cGBM gene expression characteristics is limited. The expression status of Oligodendrocyte Lineage Transcription factor 2 (OLIG2) and its clinical significance in cGBM is still unclear. ⋯ High expression level of OLIG2 could be used as an independent favorable prognosis indicator in cGBM patients and be recognized as a characteristic biomarker of cGBM.
