Second-generation catheters used in mechanical thrombectomy have different advantages and disadvantages. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the combination of contact aspiration and stent retriever technique on the rate of reperfusion after mechanical thrombectomy for large vessel occlusion. ⋯ 1.

Prior studies have found inconsistent results regarding the relationship between vitamin D status and Idiopathic Central Precocious Puberty (ICPP). ⋯ This study found that a low serum 25(OH)D level is an independent risk factor for ICPP, and several characteristics of girls with ICPP could be affected by their vitamin D status.

This study aimed to investigate the efficacy of ultrasound-guided Percutaneous Transhepatic Biliary Drainage (PTCD) for the treatment of Acute Obstructive Suppurative Cholangitis (AOSC) combined with septic shock due to choledocholithiasis, and its effect on inflammatory factors. ⋯ Ultrasound-guided PTCD for AOSC combined with septic shock can facilitate the recovery of liver and immune functions with a low complication rate.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a multisystem disease closely linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study aims to investigate the connection between early-stage NAFLD and atherosclerosis, as well as the correlation between liver fibrosis and coronary heart disease while exploring underlying inflammatory mechanisms. ⋯ NAFLD is associated with carotid intimal thickening and non-calcified plaque, suggesting an increased cardiovascular risk. Furthermore, liver fibrosis independently increases the risk of coronary heart disease in the early-stage NAFLD population, and inflammation may play a fully mediating role in the effect of liver fibrosis on coronary heart disease. Early intervention is crucial for NAFLD patients to mitigate future major adverse cardiovascular events.

Acute Respiratory Distress syndrome (ARDS) is a common complication of Acute Pancreatitis (AP) and is associated with high mortality. This study used Machine Learning (ML) to predict ARDS in patients with AP at admission. ⋯ A predictive model of ARDS complicated by AP was successfully developed based on ML. Predictive performance was evaluated by a test set, for which BC showed superior predictive performance and EDTs could be a more promising prediction tool for larger samples.
