The pathway that links good communication skills and better health outcomes is still unclear. However, it is known that the way that physicians and patients communicate with each other has direct consequences on more "proximal outcomes", such as perceptions of physician empathy and patient satisfaction. However, which specific communication skills lead to those patient outcomes is still unknown. In this study, the authors aimed to analyze which specific patient and physician communication skills are correlated to patients' satisfaction with care and patient-perceived physician empathy. ⋯ Our findings point to the importance of physicians' attentiveness to patients' communication cues. Training physicians to interpret those cues could help develop more satisfactory and empathic therapeutic relationships.

Review Meta Analysis
Screening and diagnostic tools for autism spectrum disorder: Systematic review and meta-analysis.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder, with main manifestations related to communication, social interaction, and behavioral patterns. The slight dynamics of change in the child over time require that the onset of clinical manifestations presented by the child be more valued, with the aim of stabilizing the condition. Faced with a variety of methods for diagnosing ASD, the question arises as to which method should be used. This systematic review aims to recommend the best tools to perform screening and diagnosis. ⋯ It is mandatory to apply a screening test, the most recommended being the M-CHAT-R/F. For diagnosis CARS and ADOS are the most recommended tools.

Meta Analysis
A meta-analysis on the efficacy of endoscopic ultrasonography for treatment of pancreatic cancer.
This study aimed to systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. ⋯ Owing to the restricted sample size in this meta-analysis, primarily consisting of descriptive studies, it was imperative to conduct more rigorously designed, multi-center, long-term follow-up, larger sample, and Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) to validate the findings.

This study aimed to develop and internally validate a prediction model for estimating the risk of spontaneous abortion in early pregnancy. ⋯ The prediction model demonstrated good performance in estimating spontaneous abortion risk in early pregnancy based on demographic, clinical, and psychosocial factors. Further external validation is recommended before clinical application.

This controlled study investigated metabolic changes in non-vaccinated individuals with Long-COVID-19, along with their connection to the severity of the disease. The study involved 88 patients who experienced varying levels of initial disease severity (mild, moderate, and severe), and a control group of 29 healthy individuals. Metabolic risk markers from fasting blood samples were analyzed, and data regarding disease severity indicators were collected. ⋯ HDL-C and ferritin were identified as the leading factors predicted by disease severity. In conclusion, the decline in HDL-C levels and rise in ferritin levels seen in Long-COVID-19 individuals, largely influenced by the severity of the initial infection, could potentially play a role in the persistence and progression of Long-COVID-19. Hence, these markers could be considered as possible therapeutic targets, and help shape preventive strategies to reduce the long-term impacts of the disease.
