To evaluate the clinical efficacy of Kanglaite (KLT) injection combined with chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) by meta-analysis. ⋯ KLT injection combined with chemotherapy can improve the short-term efficacy, performance status and decrease the risk of gastrointestinal reaction compared with systematic chemotherapy alone.

Epigenetics is the study of heritable alterations in gene expression that are not accompanied by the corresponding change in DNA sequence. Three interlinked epigenetic processes regulate gene expression at the level of chromatin, namely DNA methylation, nucleosomal remodeling and histone covalent modifications. Post-translational modifications that occur on certain amino acid residues of the tails of histone proteins modify chromatin structure and form the basis for "histone code". ⋯ They are classified into four classes namely short chain fatty acids, hydroxamic acids, cyclic peptides and synthetic benzamides. This review describes the clinical utility of HDACI as monotherapy as well as combination therapy with other treatment modalities such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Adverse effects and shortcomings of treatment with HDACI are also discussed in detail.

To identify the genes involved in prolactinoma by bioinformatics methods and provide new potential biomarkers for prolactinoma. ⋯ Several DEGs between prolactinoma and normal samples were identified in our study and candidate agents such as LHB and FSHB may provide the groundwork for a targeted therapy approach for prolactinomas.

Angiogenesis performs a critical role in the development of cancer. Angiogenesis research is a cutting-edge field in cancer research. Proteomics is a powerful tool in identifying multiple proteins that are altered following a neuropharacological intervention in a disease of the central nervous system. Diagnostic oncoproteomics is the application of proteomic techniques for the diagnosis of malignancies. ⋯ The vascular microenvironment of glioma play a major role in determining the pathophysiological character is tics of the tumor. apo A1 and albumin are very significant due to their functional consequences in glioma tumor growth, migration and angiogenesis.

To investigate the treatment efficiency of whole brain irradiation combined with precise radiotherapy on triple-negative (TN) phenotype breast cancer patients with brain metastases and their survival times. ⋯ After whole brain irradiation followed by IMRT or 3DCRT treatment, TN phenotype breast cancer patients with intracranial metastasis had high objective response rates but shorter survival time. With respect to survival in breast cancer patients with intracranial metastasis, the TN phenotype represents a significant adverse prognostic factor.
