Comparative StudyRole of WB-MR/DWIBS compared to (18)F-FDG PET/CT in the therapy response assessment of lymphoma.
This study prospectively evaluated whole-body magnetic resonance/diffusion-weighted imaging with body signal suppression (WB-MR/DWIBS) reliability compared to (18)F-FDG PET/CT in the treatment response assessment of classic Hodgkin lymphomas (HL) and aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphomas (aNHL). ⋯ WB-MR/DWIBS seems to be an appropriate method for the post-treatment assessment of patients affected by HL and aNHL. The small discrepancies between the two methods found within HL could be due to the biological and metabolic behavior of this group of diseases. Larger prospective studies are necessary to better define the role of WB-MR/DWIBS in this setting of patients.

Comparative StudyThe role of contrast enhanced computed tomography in the diagnosis of necrotizing fasciitis and comparison with the laboratory risk indicator for necrotizing fasciitis (LRINEC).
To evaluate the diagnostic efficacy of contrast enhanced computed tomography (CECT) in emergency departments for diagnosis of necrotizing fasciitis (NF) and for differential diagnosis of other musculoskeletal infections; to correlate radiological findings with the laboratory risk indicator for necrotizing fasciitis (LRINEC). ⋯ Computed tomography (CT) parameters, which are significantly associated with the diagnosis of NF, are the involvement of the fascia and its lack of enhancement; LRINEC score could be high (>5) also in other musculoskeletal infections. Final diagnosis of necrosis among the fascia is surgical. Presence of gas is not a specific sign of necrotizing fasciitis being present in other musculoskeletal infections. CT could easily discriminate NF from other musculoskeletal infections, adds an important value to clinical and laboratory tests in diagnosis of NF in an emergency context when magnetic resonance imaging, which is superior to CT in this discernment, could not be performed.

Irreversible electroporation of hepatocellular carcinoma: preliminary report on the diagnostic accuracy of magnetic resonance, computer tomography, and contrast-enhanced ultrasound in evaluation of the ablated area.
Irreversible electroporation (IRE) is a new ablation modality. Our purpose was to describe the effectiveness and the safety of the treatment and to evaluate the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) diagnostic accuracy in HCC patients treated with IRE at 1-, 3-, and 6-month follow-up. ⋯ IRE is a feasible, safe and efficient modality in the treatment of patients with non-resectable HCC. We had no major complication, even when the ablated lesion was adjacent to major branches of the portal vein. All images techniques showed similar accuracy during the follow-up at 1, 3, and 6 months in the assessment ablated zone.

Combined thrombus aspiration and recanalization in treating Budd-Chiari syndrome with inferior vena cava thrombosis.
To investigate the feasibility, safety, and effectiveness of combined thrombus aspiration and inferior vena cava (IVC) recanalization for Budd-Chiari syndrome (BCS) patients with IVC thrombosis. ⋯ Combined thrombus aspiration and IVC recanalization can be a safe and effective method for BCS patients with IVC thrombosis.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyT2 shine-through phenomena in diffusion-weighted MR imaging of lumbar discs after oxygen-ozone discolysis: a randomized, double-blind trial with steroid and O2-O3 discolysis versus steroid only.
To evaluate the discal morpho-structural changes as predictive sign in the clinical outcome after Ozone Therapy in lumbar disc herniation using the T2 shine-through effect in DWI. ⋯ T2 shine-through effect in DWI is present before morphological disc reduction and moreover could be considered as a predictive sign of response to oxygen-ozone treatment.
