[Computerized tomography in rheumatoid arthritis of the cranio-cervical junction].
Twenty rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients with involvement of the cranio-cervical junction (CCJ) were given CT scan. In most cases the myelo-CT technique with the lumbar injection of small quantities of non-ionic contrast medium was adopted; CT easily diagnosed the "horizontal" and "vertical" dislocations on the CCJ, the bone structure lesions and the inflammatory masses. A high frequency of medullary compressions was also found in these patients. Myelo-CT appears to be the technique of choice for the precise definition of the various factors responsible for the neurological complications found in RA of the CCJ.

[Radiologic hyperthermia with microwaves and radiofrequencies. II. Results in 57 neoplastic recurrences].
The authors present their results with hyperthermic treatment (alone or associated with radiation therapy) on 43 patients (with a total of 57 sites) treated from september 1983 to august 1985. All patients had recurrent lesion of pretreated malignant tumors. ⋯ The clinical protocol was: hyperthermia alone (43 degrees-45 degrees C during 30 minutes) twice weekly (for a total of 8-10 treatments) or hyperthermia plus radiation therapy (4 Gy/fraction) for a total of 6-8 seances. In summary the response rate (CR + PR) was 80.4% (RT + HT 90% - HT alone 67.5%); the complete response rate was 24.5%.

The iatrogenic pulmonary complications (interstitial emphysema, pneumothorax, atelectasis, broncho-pulmonary dysplasia) in 87 premature infants (less than 32 weeks gestational age, birth weight less than 1500 g) are analyzed. Also the predictive value of the radiologic pattern of the lung of the premature infant as seen at birth is evaluated (predictive value versus survival beyond the fifth day and versus the possible need of assisted ventilation).
