Randomized Controlled Trial
Randomized double blinded placebo controlled trial comparing diclofenac and piroxicam in management of acute renal colic and its clinical implications.
To compare the efficacy of sublingual piroxicam 40 mg with intramuscular diclofenac 75 mg in treatment of acute renal colic. The secondary objective was to look for factors that can affect the severity of the pain and pain relief in acute renal colic. ⋯ The results show that sublingual piroxicam is as effective as intramuscular diclofenac. It can be easily self-administered and it overcomes the morbidity and time delay in getting intramuscular diclofenac.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
A comparison of the effects of morphine and sublingual desmopressin combination therapy with morphine alone in treatment of renal colic: a controlled clinical trial.
To compare the therapeutic efficacy of combined desmopressin and morphine with morphine and placebo on acute renal colic. ⋯ No superiority was found in adding desmopressin to morphine compared to the traditional treatments (opioids only) in relieving the pain of acute renal colic cases.

Comparison of safety and efficacy of laparoscopic pyelolithotomy versus percutaneous nephrolithotomy in patients with renal pelvic stones: a randomized clinical trial.
A randomized clinical trial was designed to compare the efficacy, success rate and surgical complications of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and laparoscopic pyelolithotomy (LP). ⋯ PCNL remains the gold standard treatment for most large kidney stones, nevertheless, laparoscopic pyelolithotomy can be considered for selected cases especially in whom maximal preservation of renal function is necessary.

Flexible ureterorenoscopy versus semirigid ureteroscopy for the treatment of proximal ureteral stones: a retrospective comparative analysis of 124 patients.
To investigate and compare the stone clearence and complication rates of flexible ureteroscopy (URS) with semirigid URS in patients having proximal ureteral stones. ⋯ Flexible URS is a favorable option for patients having proximal ureteral stones with higher stone free rate; on the other hand semirigid URS seems a less successful alternative for treatment of proximal ureteral stones.

Comparison of 12- and 16-core prostate biopsy in japanese patients with serum prostate-specific antigen level of 4.0-20.0 ng/mL.
In the present study, we compared 12- with 16-core biopsy in patients with prostate- specific antigen (PSA) levels of 4.0-20.0 ng/mL. ⋯ In order to detect prostate cancer, 16-core prostate biopsy is safe and feasible for Japanese patients with serum PSA level of 4.0-20.0 ng/mL.
