Case Reports[Compressive retropharyngeal hematoma in a hemophiliac patient].
The retropharyngeal hematoma is rare and usually due to trauma, anticoagulation therapy complication or ascending aortic dissection. This presentation is extremely rare in hemophiliac patients. ⋯ Hemophilia A is characterized by a deficit in factor VIII. Clinical symptoms are not specific and vary with the level of the intrinsic factor. Hematoma of the cervical region is a rare but potentially life-threatening event. The treatment requires transfusion of the specific factor and education of the patient and his relatives.

[Efficacy of specific physiotherapy for temporomandibular joint dysfunction of muscular origin].
Little explanation is given to patients with temporomandibular disorders and muscles dysfunction on the mechanism and the expected results of conservative treatment. The purpose of this prospective study was to evaluate the efficacy of specific physical therapy prescribed after this explanation was given and also after using a flat occlusal splint adapted only if muscle pain remained after physical therapy. ⋯ Patients who undertake the specific physical therapy and who regularly practice self-physical therapy succeed in relaxing their masticator muscles and in decreasing the level of pain. Explanations given by the doctor concerning the etiology of pain, during temporomandibular joint dysfunction of muscular origin, and the purpose of specific physical therapy increase the capacity of self-relaxation. A flat occlusal splint is indicated for patients who grind their teeth and for those whose pain resists to physical therapy.

[Skin expansion in cicatricial alopecia of the scalp: 18 cases].
Skin expansion technique used to increase the hair surface available at the scalp level was a major breakthrough in the surgical treatment of important cicatricial alopecia. This article had for aim to define the importance and limits of this technique in the treatment of alopecia and to highlight its relevance compared to other methods. ⋯ The results demonstrate that skin expansion technique is a simple, reliable, and efficient method in the healing of important cicatricial alopecia of scalp. It enables a wider use of the classical local flap technique, by expanding the surface and vascularization allowing for a direct suturing of the donor site. Skin expansion holds an important place in the treatment of significant skin cicatricial alopecia, since it represents the only surgical solution when the alopecia area exceeds 50 cm2.
