Sustainable health promotion for the seniors during COVID-19 outbreak: a lesson from Tokyo.
The COVID-19 pandemic is novel corona virus infection outbreak that has gone global in 2020. Current prevention policies consist of hand hygiene and social distancing. Emergencies overloaded health services and shocked the logistics chains in many countries, especially Italy and China. ⋯ Home exercise is a practical option. Therefore, we made a home-version of the functional training exercise video with different sets of 10-minutes exercise for 7 days a week. This breakthrough alternative may sustain health promotion for the elderly persons to preserve their active aging and maintain optimal health.

The novel zoonotic COVID-19 pandemic: An expected global health concern.
18 years ago, in 2002, the world was astonished by the appearance of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), supported by a zoonotic coronavirus, called SARS-CoV, from the Guangdong Province of southern China. After about 10 years, in 2012, another similar coronavirus triggered the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) in Saudi Arabia. Both caused severe pneumonia killing 774 and 858 people with 8700 cases of confirmed infection for the former, and 2494 for the latter, causing significant economic losses. 8 years later, despite the MERS outbreak remaining in certain parts of the world, at the end of 2019, a new zoonotic coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) and responsible of coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), arose from Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. ⋯ Nonetheless, as for SARS-CoV and MERS CoV, the Spillover effect linked to animal-human promiscuity, human activities including deforestation, illegal bush-trafficking and bushmeat, cannot be excluded. Recently, however, evidence of inter-human only transmission of SARS-CoV-2 has been accumulated and thus, the outbreak seems to be spreading by human-to-human transmission throughout a large part of the world. Herein we will provide with an update on the main features of COVID-19 and suggest possible solutions how to halt the expansion of this novel pandemic.

Antibiotic resistance pattern of Escherichia coli isolates from outpatients with urinary tract infections in Somalia.
Several studies suggest increasing rates of antibiotic resistance among adult populations with Urinary tract infections (UTI). Escherichia coli (E. coli), is the predominant bacterium both in the community and in hospital environments causing uropathogenic infections. This study aimed to estimate the common uropathogen bacteria that cause UTI among outpatients as well as to determine the antibiotic resistance pattern of E. coli isolates among outpatients with UTI infections at Shaafi hospital, Mogadishu, Somalia. ⋯ The study indicates that outpatients with UTI could be at high risk of antibiotic resistance, suggesting regular surveillance and monitoring of antibiotics.

ReviewMicro-elimination of HCV as a possible therapeutic strategy: our experience and a review of literature.
Serbia has an intermediate estimated prevalence of chronic hepatitis C (CHC) infection, approximately 1.13%, with hepatitis C remaining one of the leading causes of liver-related morbidity and mortality in Serbia with impaired quality of life and overwhelming cost of treating its complications As the availability of new treatment options and resources for screening remains limited, micro-elimination of CHC becomes a top priority. ⋯ Micro-elimination is feasible in Serbia, especially in the subpopulation of patients with haemophilia. This may represent an initial step towards achieving the WHO objective to eliminate hepatitis C infection by 2030.
