New embracing approach for better advanced cancer patient comprehensive care.
Cancer patients have multiple and complex needs. Argentina has a medium-high cancer incidence. Only 14% of patients with palliative care needs have access to specialized services. This study aimed to develop and implement an integrated cancer care model in three hospitals and at home based care level. ⋯ This study showed that a predictive model is feasible, improving chances for timely referral and needs approach. It provided the basis for further implementation research and should encourage policymakers for embracing palliative model development for better cancer patient care.

Status epilepticus (SE) is a neurological emergency. Non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE) can only be diagnosed by electroencephalogram (EEG) because the motor clinical symptoms are usually subtle or absent, with high mortality. The best treatment is still unknown. ⋯ It could be assumed that mortality rate increases 2.6-fold when patients are treated with anesthetic drugs, regardless of the number of antiepileptic drugs previously administered.

Acute monoarthritis (AM) represents a relevant cause of morbidity that requires prompt medical care. The study of synovial fluid becomes relevant to allow a rapid diagnostic approach. The main objective of the study was to determine the frequency and clinical-analytical characteristics of episodes of AM and acute bursitis evaluated in a hospital during a period of 6 years. ⋯ The main cause of AM was septic arthritis, followed by microcrystalline AM (gout and secondary to CPPD). The main affected joint was the knee, followed by the shoulder. Synovial fluid analysis was a key element when making the differential diagnosis between the different causes of acute monoarthritis and bursitis.

[Cognitive sequelae in immunomediated encephalitis: cohort of patients in Argentina].
Autoimmune encephalitis represents a group of immune-mediated neurological disorders. At present, the description of the chronic cognitive sequela is scarce. The objective of this study was to characterize the cognitive after effects of different types of autoimmune encephalitis in a cohort from a single center in Argentina. ⋯ Our results show that, despite the monophasic course of this disease, all patients had persistent cognitive damage beyond the year of onset. Larger prospective studies are required to confirm our findings.

The evolution of post COVID syndrome has been variable and we lack information on its impact on healthcare professionals, particularly in Latin America. ⋯ In conclusion, in many cases the persistence of post-COVID symptoms can be prolonged and have an occupational impact on healthcare professionals, requiring the adoption of specific policies to reduce harm.
