Comparative Study Observational StudyAccuracy of J-CTO Score Derived From Computed Tomography Versus Angiography to Predict Successful Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
The aim of this study was to compare the ability of conventional versus computed tomography angiography (CTA) to predict procedural success and 30-min wire crossing rates in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for chronic total occlusion (CTO) lesions. ⋯ The CTA-derived J-CTO score was a more useful predictor of both procedural success and 30-min wire crossing than the J-CTO score derived from conventional angiography.

Multicenter Study Comparative StudyThe Coronary Artery Disease-Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS): Prognostic and Clinical Implications Associated With Standardized Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography Reporting.
This study sought to assess clinical outcomes associated with the novel Coronary Artery Disease-Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS) scores used to standardize coronary computed tomography angiography (CTA) reporting and their potential utility in guiding post-coronary CTA care. ⋯ CAD-RADS effectively identified patients at risk for adverse events. Frequent ICA use was observed among patients without severe CAD, many of whom were asymptomatic or not taking antianginal drugs. Incorporating CAD-RADS into coronary CTA reports may provide a novel opportunity to promote evidence-based care post-coronary CTA.

Epidemiology of Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction and Heart Failure in the Framingham Study: An Echocardiographic Study Over 3 Decades.
The purpose of this study was to describe the temporal trends in prevalence of left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) in individuals without and with heart failure (HF) in the community over a 3-decade period of observation. ⋯ The profile of HF in the community has changed in recent decades, with a lower prevalence of LVSD and an increased frequency of HFpEF, presumably due to concomitant risk factor trends.

Comparative StudyPrecision Phenotyping in Heart Failure and Pattern Clustering of Ultrasound Data for the Assessment of Diastolic Dysfunction.
The aim of this study was to investigate whether cluster analysis of left atrial and left ventricular (LV) mechanical deformation parameters provide sufficient information for Doppler-independent assessment of LV diastolic function. ⋯ Tracking deformation of the left-sided cardiac chambers from routine cardiac ultrasound images provides accurate information for Doppler-independent phenotypic characterization of LV diastolic function and noninvasive assessment of LV filling pressures.
