[Areas of anomalous binocular single vision in small angle concomitant esotropia: evaluation by means of a modification of the v. Graefe technique (author's transl)].
A red filter in front of the fixing eye according to the v. Graefe technique was used in order to detect binocular visual field in patients with anomalous retinal correspondence and small angle esotropia. A striated glass was also placed in front of the deviated eye, in order to check whether single perception was related to suppression or to binocular vision. ⋯ The suppression scotoma described by the v. Graefe perimetric technique may therefore in certain cases be in reality areas of single anomalous binocular vision. It has also been seen anomalous retinal correspondence is more deeply rooted at the center than at the periphery of the binocular visual field.

The progress of understanding the special physiology and pathology of the small child, as well as the perfection of the technical equipment for pediatric anesthesia are responsible for the fact that today practically every child even during very difficult surgical interventions can be kept with security in general anesthesia. A survey of the problems occuring in pediatric anesthesia includes the following items: preoperative examination, preparation for anesthesia and surgical intervention, techniques of anesthesia, special dangers for the newborn and small children (fluid ratio, decrease of body temperature, hypoglycemia) and postoperative treatment. The author comes to the conclusion that the best conditions for general anesthesia of the small child are only present in a children's hospital where the necessary infrastructure is available. The pediatric anesthesist strongly wish therefore that also the specialists like the ophthalmologist make use of the specialised children's hospital for operative purposes.

[Phase-difference haploscope with a varioobjective for the measurement of aniseikonia (author's transl)].
The author reports on a technical modification of Author's phase-difference haploscope. Through the employment of a varioobjective pictures of size variation ranging from +60 percent to -30 percent could be continually used for the measurement of aniseikonia. Through this the range of fusion of patients with aniseikonia could be measured under conditions of aniseikonia. The importance of the variation of the size of pictures for the measurement of range of fusion in strabismus is pointed out.
