Spanish-Speaking Parents' Experiences Accessing Academic Medical Center Care: Barriers, Facilitators and Technology Use.
Children of Spanish-speaking caregivers face multiple barriers to care in academic medical centers. This study identified barriers and facilitators of health care and described use of health information technology in order to guide interventions and optimize services. ⋯ Caregivers of Spanish-speaking children encounter many language-specific barriers, which are compounded by non-language-specific barriers arising from complex health systems and social needs. Caregivers with limited resources described working hard to meet children's complex health care needs despite these barriers. Most caregivers had internet access and interest in patient portals. Academic medical centers may need multifaceted interventions that improve the availability of bilingual staff and interpreters and also address caregivers' social and informational needs.

The Association of Adverse Childhood Experiences With Anxiety and Depression for Children and Youth, 8 to 17 Years of Age.
To determine the prevalence of anxiety and depression and examine their association with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) among children and adolescents ages 8 to 17 years old. ⋯ Our study demonstrates a differential association between ACEs and anxiety and depression. This highlights the importance of assessing the impact of ACEs on internalizing behaviors separately. These findings are significant for pediatric providers as diagnosis and treatment for mental health disorders are vital components of pediatric care and further support the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendation to screen for ACEs.

Utility of Residency Milestones Reported to Fellowship Directors: A National Survey of Pediatric Fellowship Program Directors.
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education recently made available final residency Milestones for first-year fellows to fellowship program directors (FPDs). Usefulness of residency Milestones for fellows is unknown. Our objective was to determine how many pediatric FPDs downloaded final residency Milestones for their first-year fellows and FPD perspectives about usefulness of residency Milestones. ⋯ Most FPDs find residency Milestones to be of limited utility for their fellows and do not use residency Milestones to tailor education for their first-year fellows. Improving relevance of residency Milestones to fellowship training, validity, and how Milestones are assessed and reported may improve their usefulness for fellow training.

Core Curricular Priorities in the Care of Children With Medical Complexity: A North American Modified Delphi Study.
Previous studies of pediatric residents have identified educational gaps in caring for children with medical complexity. Training opportunities in complex care vary across residency programs. Defining core curricular topics in complex care is a priority in medical education. ⋯ Eleven curricular priorities in complex care were identified across multiple domains of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health framework, serving as a guide for standardized curriculum development for future pediatricians.
