Distal humerus intercondylar fractures are intra-articular and comminuted fractures involving soft tissue injury. As distal humerus is triangle-shaped, parallel plating coupled with articular fixation would be suitable for bicolumn restoration in treatment of distal humerus intercondylar fracture. ⋯ Triangular fixation technique for bicolumn restoration was an effective and reliable method in treatment of distal humerus intercondylar fracture. This technique maintained articular congruency and restored both medial and lateral columns, resulting in good elbow function.

The treatment of unstable intertrochanteric fractures in elderly is still controversial. The purpose of this study is to present treatment strategies for unstable intertrochanteric fractures with hemiarthroplasty using standard uncemented collared femoral stems and at the same time preserving the fractured calcar fragment. ⋯ Calcar preservation arthroplasty is a good option for elderly patients with severe osteoporosis, frail constitution and the patients who are at higher risk for second operation due to unstable intertrochanteric fractures.

Several tendon graft and fixation methods have been introduced in medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction for recurrent patellar dislocation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of MPFL reconstruction using a gracilis autograft fixation without bone tunnel in patients with recurrent patellar instability. ⋯ We achieved good results with a patellar fixation technique in MPFL reconstruction using a gracilis autograft employing soft tissue suturing in patients with recurrent patellar dislocation.

To compare the effectiveness of intraoperative three-dimensional (3D) image and conventional two-dimensional (2D) fluoroscopic images, which are used in the treatment of acute calcaneal fractures. ⋯ Intraoperative 3D imaging of calcaneal fractures is considered to be useful in evaluating the congruence of joints and the placement of implants.

Standard treatments may provide adequate containment in mild to moderate Legg-Calve-Perthes disease (LCPD), but they can be problematic in more severe cases. The purpose of this study was to report the results of combined shelf acetabuloplasty with femoral varus osteotomy in severe LCPD. ⋯ The surgical outcomes for combined shelf acetabuloplasty with femoral varus osteotomy in severe LCPD patients over 8 years old are comparable with other advanced surgical methods. In the cases of severe disease that match our inclusion criteria, our containment method could be another treatment option.
