Unique percutaneous direct puncture technique for occlusion of a hypoglossal canal dural arteriovenous fistula.
To report percutaneous transcranial puncture, embolization and occlusion of a very symptomatic hypoglossal canal/anterior condylar vein dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF) using syngo iGuide navigational software in a patient in whom transarterial and transvenous embolization and surgery had failed. ⋯ With guidance and imaging provided by CBCT and syngo iGuide navigational software, an otherwise untreatable DAVF was successfully embolized and obliterated by an aggressive unique percutaneous trans-cranial needle puncture of the dominant outflow vein in the hypoglossal canal.

Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients who benefit from endovascular treatment have a large vessel occlusion (LVO), small core infarction, and salvageable brain. We determined if diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and perfusion-weighted imaging (PWI) alone can correctly identify and localize anterior circulation LVO and accurately triage patients to endovascular thrombectomy (ET). ⋯ AIS patients with anterior circulation LVO are accurately identified using DWI and PWI alone, and LVO location may be correctly inferred from PWI. MRA omission may be considered to expedite AIS triage in hyperacute scenarios or may confidently supplant non-diagnostic or artifact-limited MRA.

Long-term outcomes of treatment for unruptured intracranial aneurysms in South Korea: clipping versus coiling.
The long-term outcomes of endovascular coiling and surgical clipping for the treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysms are unclear. ⋯ All-cause mortality at 7 years was similar between the elective surgical clipping and endovascular coiling groups in patients with unruptured aneurysms who had no history of subarachnoid hemorrhage due to aneurysm rupture.

To report the clinical results and initial clinical experience of endovascular isolation with the Willis covered stent for carotid siphon aneurysms. ⋯ The treatment of siphon aneurysms with Willis covered stent implantation resulted in satisfactory clinical outcomes. The Willis covered stent seems safe and feasible for the treatment of siphon aneurysms, which still needs to be confirmed by longer follow-up periods and controlled studies with larger samples.

The majority of the discussions were held between stroke support groups and non-healthcare-related individuals, with discussion content centering around stroke prevention, stroke symptoms, associated medical conditions, and treatment options.
