Psychometric Properties of the Pediatric Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System Item Banks in a Dutch Clinical Sample of Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
To assess the psychometric properties of 8 pediatric Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) item banks in a clinical sample of children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). ⋯ The pediatric PROMIS item banks displayed sufficient psychometric properties for Dutch children with JIA. PROMIS item banks are ready for use in clinical research and practice for children with JIA.

Screening to identify postoperative pain and cross-sectional associations between factors identified in this process with pain and function, three months after total knee replacement.
Describe the screening and recruitment process of a randomised trial and evaluate associations with knee pain and function three months after total knee replacement (TKR). ⋯ Screening after TKR identified people with pain. We identified several potential targets (physical and mental health outcomes, acceptance of pain and quality of life) for tailored intervention to improve outcomes for patients. Trials of multidisciplinary interventions are now needed.

First Validation of the Full PROMIS Pain Interference and Pain Behavior Item Banks in Patients With Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Pain interference and pain behavior are highly relevant outcomes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) is a universally applicable set of item banks measuring patient-reported health, and if applied as computerized adaptive tests (CATs), more efficiently and precisely than current instruments. The objective was to study the psychometric properties of the Dutch-Flemish PROMIS pain interference (PROMIS-PI) and the PROMIS pain behavior (PROMIS-PB) item banks in patients with RA. ⋯ Both PROMIS-PI and PROMIS-PB banks showed good psychometric properties in patients with RA and can be used as CATs in research and clinical practice.

Perspectives of Patients With Rheumatic Diseases in the Early Phase of COVID-19.
To determine health perceptions of patients with rheumatic diseases in the early phase of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. ⋯ Concerns regarding the risk of COVID-19 among patients taking antirheumatic drugs are common. Proactive dissemination of information is needed to address misconceptions related to medication risk, improve medication adherence, and minimize the risk of flares. Telehealth is acceptable to most patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Development of Resilience Among Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients: A Qualitative Study.
Resilience, the ability to recover from and adapt successfully to stressful situations, is a valuable resource for patients who live with chronic conditions. This qualitative study examines the development of resilience among rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. We aimed to describe the resilience development process and to describe strategies used by patients to cultivate resilience. ⋯ RA patients acquire resilience in a dynamic process of learning in response to new challenges. Patients use a combination of behavioral and emotion management strategies to cultivate resilience. Awareness of these strategies may benefit patients, health care providers, and researchers developing behavioral interventions and social support programs in the context of RA and other chronic diseases.
