Insurance Type and Major Complications After Hysterectomy.
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between primary insurance type and major complications after hysterectomy. ⋯ Women with Medicaid and Medicare insurance have increased odds of major complications after hysterectomy. Abdominal hysterectomy, BMI, and smoking are potentially modifiable risk factors for women with Medicaid.

Outpatient Narcotic Use After Minimally Invasive Urogynecologic Surgery.
To quantify outpatient narcotic use in the first 2 weeks after urogynecologic surgery. ⋯ Women used one third of the narcotics they were prescribed after minimally invasive urogynecologic surgery. These data may be useful for establishing narcotic prescription guidelines.

Comparative StudyComparison of Perioperative Complications by Route of Hysterectomy Performed for Benign Conditions.
The aim of this study was to compare perioperative complications by route of hysterectomy before and after the introduction of robotic surgery. ⋯ Vaginal hysterectomy has comparable rates of perioperative complications when compared with robotic and laparoscopic approaches and should be considered as a primary surgical approach in the growing armamentarium of minimally invasive approaches for hysterectomy for benign conditions.

Breakdown of Perineal Laceration Repair After Vaginal Delivery: A Case-Control Study.
The aim of the study was to estimate risk factors associated with breakdown of perineal laceration repair after vaginal delivery. ⋯ Smoking, nulliparity, episiotomy, operative delivery, third- or fourth-degree laceration, repair by a midwife, and use of chromic suture are independent risk factors for breakdown of perineal laceration repair after vaginal delivery.
