To measure the association of military branch-specific contraceptive education and access policy during basic training with contraceptive use and childbirth among new recruits. ⋯ Guidelines for contraceptive education and access during basic training, highly effective contraception use after 6 months of service and childbirth in the first 24 months of service vary among branches of the United States military. Reducing this variability may reduce childbirth rates and improve the reproductive health of junior enlisted servicewomen.

To compare intra- and postoperative surgical complications of opportunistic bilateral total salpingectomy during postpartum permanent contraception procedures in elective and unscheduled cesarean delivery. ⋯ Our results suggest that bilateral total salpingectomy during any cesarean delivery may be an acceptable choice for its higher contraceptive efficacy and risk-reduction effect for ovarian cancer, at the price of a small increase in operative time.

Effect of staff training and cost support on provision of long-acting reversible contraception in community health centers.
To compare the proportion of women receiving same-day long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) between two different models of contraceptive provision adapted from the Contraceptive CHOICE Project. ⋯ Contraceptive care provision which includes contraceptive counseling, healthcare provider education, and "on-the-shelf", long-acting reversible contraception facilitate same-day initiation of these methods. Interventions that focus solely on contraceptive counseling do not address other structural barriers to same-day contraceptive provision of all methods including cost and provider practice.

Auricular acupuncture as an adjunct for pain management during first trimester abortion: a randomized, double-blinded, three arm trial.
To assess pain-management using auricular acupuncture as an adjunct to ibuprofen and paracervical block during first trimester uterine aspiration, and to assess auricular acupuncture's effect on anxiety. ⋯ Auricular acupuncture may be a useful adjunct to ibuprofen and paracervical block during first trimester uterine aspiration. This approach to managing pain and anxiety could avoid the operational complexities and expenses of sedation and opioid use.

To understand teen birth trends in Georgia by racial and geographic factors. ⋯ Our analysis suggests that persistent disparities in teen birth and repeat birth rates exist, particularly in areas with limited or threatened access to reproductive health care. Applying targeted teen pregnancy prevention initiatives to these areas could help ensure equitable health and social outcomes for teens.
