Examine the outcome of urodynamic studies in a regional prevalence group of patients with traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI), explore relationships between urodynamic parameters and renal complications/other SCI-related dysfunctions, assess the role of urodynamics in SCI follow-up. ⋯ Maximum detrusor pressures during the filling/voiding phases attained high levels in a majority of patients. Detrusor overactivity during more than one-third of the filling phase was significantly related to signs of renal complications.

To describe the study design of the GÖTEBORG prostate cancer screening (PC) 2 (Göteborg-2), a prospective, randomised, population-based trial of PC screening. This trial evaluates whether prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing followed by 3 Tesla prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and targeted biopsy can reduce overdiagnosis, while maintaining the detection of clinically significant cancer, compared to PSA-screening and systematic biopsy. ⋯ The Göteborg-2 trial will provide new knowledge about the performance of prostate MRI in a screening setting.

Purpose: The aim of the present retrospective single-center study is to evaluate the diagnostic performance of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in the evaluation of renal oncocytoma. Method: Thirteen patients with histopathologically confirmed renal oncocytoma and 26 patients with histopathologically confirmed renal cell carcinoma were included in this retrospective single-center study on whom CEUS was performed between 2005 and 2015. The applied contrast agent was a second-generation blood pool agent. ⋯ Only 23% of renal oncocytomas showed slight vascularization using Color Doppler. No oncocytoma-specific pattern of microperfusion could be elucidated: 85% of the oncocytomas presented hyperenhancing, of whom 50% also showed delayed venous wash-out; 8% of renal oncocytomas showed venous wash-out without early arterial hyperenhancement. Conclusions: Within the frame of the present study and in line with the recent state of knowledge, no specific sonomorphological feature - including CEUS - could be detected allowing for adequate discrimination between oncocytoma and renal cell carcinoma.

Background: The objective of this study was to compare the prevalence of clinically significant prostate cancer (CSPCa) in men with biparametric prebiopsy prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and lesion-targeted biopsies (TBs) to the group of men without prebiopsy MRI in an initial biopsy session. Methods: The MRI group consists of men enrolled into four prospective clinical trials investigating a biparametric MRI (bpMRI) and TB while the non-MRI group was a retrospective cohort of men collected from an era prior to a clinical use of a prostate MRI. All men had standard biopsies (SBs). ⋯ Significantly (p < 0.05) more CSPCa was diagnosed with initial biopsies in the MRI group (48%) compared to non-MRI group (34%). In men with no CSPCa diagnosed during the initial biopsies, significantly fewer (p < 0.05) men had upgrading re-biopsies in the MRI group (5%) than in the non-MRI group (19%) during the follow up. Conclusions: Prebiopsy bpMRI with TBs combined with SBs could lead to earlier diagnoses of CSPCa compared with men without prebiopsy prostate MRI used in initial PCa diagnostics.

Less painful ESWL with ultrasound-guided quadratus lumborum block: a prospective randomized controlled study.
Objectives: Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) has been widely used for the treatment of urinary tract stones and is usually administered as an outpatient procedure, although the vast majority of patients do not tolerate it without sedoanalgesia. The quadratus lumborum block (QLB) is a newly-defined technique for abdominal surgery. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of ultrasound-guided QLB in ESWL. ⋯ The fragmentation success rate was significantly higher in Group QLB than in Group C (19/20 vs 14/20, respectively, p = 0.046). Patient satisfaction was also higher in Group QLB (p = 0.011). Conclusions: This study shows that QLB provided adequate analgesia for ESWL and that it reduced extra opioid consumption significantly compared to the control group.
