The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of [(18)F]fluorocholine positron emission tomography/computed tomography (FCH PET/CT) in detecting lymph-node and bone involvement in comparison with conventional imaging, such as abdominal-pelvic CT and bone scan, in the initial staging of prostate cancer (PCa). ⋯ The efficiency of FCH PET/CT in detecting both bone and lymph-node involvement of PCa at initial staging was found to be higher than that of conventional imaging. Prospective clinical trials are needed to confirm these findings.

The aim of this study was to investigate and report the clinical spectrum and practical problems in the management of a cohort of patients presenting with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) related to abuse of ketamine. ⋯ Ketamine cystitis is a complex problem whose exact pathological mechanism and natural history remain unknown. The only known effective treatment is to abstain from the drug. Urologists need to recognize the condition early and work together with the local substance misuse service, focusing on drug cessation therapy to reduce complications.

Comparison of different scoring systems for outcome prediction in patients with Fournier's gangrene: experience with 50 patients.
The aim of this study was to evaluate effective factors in the survival of patients with Fournier's gangrene (FG) and compare three different validated scoring systems for outcome prediction: Fournier's Gangrene Severity Index (FGSI), Uludag Fournier's Gangrene Severity Index (UFGSI) and age-adjusted Charlson Comorbidity Index (ACCI). ⋯ Only the UFGSI score could predict the disease severity and the patients' survival. The findings did not support previous findings that an UFGSI threshold of 9 is a predictor of mortality during initial evaluation.

The aim of this study was to record prostate-specific antigen (PSA) response and overall survival (OS) for a group of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) patients treated with enzalutamide following progression after abiraterone treatment in the post-chemotherapy setting. ⋯ Previous abiraterone therapy is associated with a less marked fall in PSA following enzalutamide therapy in post-chemotherapy mCRPC patients compared with reported results in randomized trials. Larger prospective studies of sequencing are warranted.

Acute scrotal pain is a common presentation to the paediatric emergency department. Testicular torsion is one of the most common causes of acute scrotal pain. Testicular torsion is a surgical emergency requiring immediate surgical exploration to prevent permanent testicular damage or loss. The aim of this study was to determine the surgical outcome of all scrotal explorations and to assess the use of colour Doppler ultrasound (CDUS) in the assessment of acute scrotal pain in two tertiary referral paediatric units. ⋯ This study supports the practice of immediate surgical exploration with a clinical suspicion of testicular torsion in a paediatric population.
