Distal hyperintense vessels (DHV) are frequently detected by fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) imaging in patients with acute ischemic stroke. Despite its relevance to patient care outcomes, the presence of DHV has not been evaluated in patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA). ⋯ Evaluation of DHV signals on FLAIR images may facilitate prediction of LASO in TIA patients and therefore enable prompt vascular assessment.

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of combined procedure of cryoablation and vertebroplasty (CVT) for reduction of pain and improvement of the quality of life in patients with single painful metastatic vertebral fractures. ⋯ Our findings suggested that combined procedure of CVT is safe and effective for pain relief in single metastatic vertebral fractures, especially when other standard palliative treatments have failed, and improves disability. Careful needle positioning and accurate fluoroscopic and CT guidance are mandatory for a complication-free treatment.

Spinal ventral epidural arteriovenous fistulas of the lumbar spine: angioarchitecture and endovascular treatment.
Spinal ventral epidural arteriovenous fistulas (EDAVFs) are relatively rare spinal vascular lesions. We investigated the angioarchitecture of spinal ventral EDAVFs and show the results of endovascular treatment. ⋯ In our limited experience, spinal ventral EDAVFs were primarily fed by somatic branches. EDAVFs can be successfully treated by endovascular techniques selected based on the drainage type of the AVF.

Neurogenic stunned myocardium after embolization in two children with vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation.
This study reports the first cases of neurogenic stunned myocardium in two children with vein of Galen aneurysmal malformation after interventional treatment. ⋯ Reversible left ventricular dysfunction is observed in adult patients mainly after subarachnoid hemorrhage and is called neurogenic stunned myocardium (NSM). Other forms of brain injuries have also been identified accounting for this condition in adults. In pediatric population especially with specific cerebral diseases, NSM may be underdiagnosed.

The purpose of this study was the evaluation of the safety and efficiency of the endovascular treatment of spinal dural arteriovenous fistulas (SDAVFs). ⋯ An interdisciplinary approach to the management of SDAVFs is mandatory. Patients without a common origin of arteries supplying the spinal cord and the dural fistula, and without a stenosis or occlusion of the concerning segmental artery are potential candidates for endovascular treatment (diluted n-butyl-2-cyanoacrylate). Only occlusion of the "nidus" and the proximal segment of the draining vein can lead to clinical improvement.
