In patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS) caused by large vessel occlusion (LVO), endovascular treatment (EVT) is highly effective for emergency revascularization. However, data on functional outcome are lacking for patients, which show no or minimal mismatch between ischemic core and penumbra. ⋯ Despite a small and highly selected patient collective, our study indicates that AIS patients with minimal penumbra in CTP might benefit from EVT in terms of reduced mortality at 30 and 90 days after AIS. However, in this group of patients, we could not prove favorable functional outcome at 30 and 90 days, despite receiving EVT.

Synthetic MRI (SyMRI) enables automatic brain tissue and myelin volumetry based on the quantification of R1 and R2 relaxation rates and proton density. This study aimed to determine the validity of SyMRI brain tissue and myelin volumetry using various in-plane resolutions at 3T in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). ⋯ SyMRI brain tissue and myelin volumetry with in-plane resolution as low as 1.8 mm can be useful in the evaluation of MS with a short acquisition time of < 3 min.

Meta Analysis
Diagnostic performance of the nerve root sedimentation sign in lumbar spinal stenosis: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
This meta-analysis intends to use all available evidence to clarify the diagnostic performance of the nerve root sedimentation sign (NRSS). ⋯ NRSS has high diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and efficacy, and good clinical application value for the diagnosis of LSS. It can be recommended as an auxiliary tool for diagnosis and screening in clinical practice.

To analyze the causes of pain, imaging characteristics, and therapeutic effect of spinal injection in patients with extreme low back pain or sciatica. ⋯ Those with extreme low back pain or sciatica had clinical and imaging characteristics similar to those with typical low back pain referred for spinal injection. Spinal injection could be an effective method of pain control for patients with extreme low back pain or sciatica.

To evaluate the potential value of machine learning (ML)-based histogram analysis (or first-order texture analysis) on T2-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for predicting consistency of pituitary macroadenomas (PMA) and to compare it with that of signal intensity ratio (SIR) evaluation. ⋯ ML-based T2-weighted MRI histogram analysis might be a useful technique in predicting the consistency of PMAs, with a better predictive performance than that of SIR evaluation.
