To investigate the diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI) in early minimal hepatic encephalopathy (MHE) diagnosis and evaluate the correlations between changes in DKI metrics and cognitive performance. ⋯ Altered DKI metrics indicate brain microstructure abnormalities in MHE patients, some of which may be used as neuroimaging markers for early MHE diagnosis.

To examine diagnostic reference levels (DRL) and achievable doses (AD) of image-guided and size-specific dose estimates (SSDE) and organ and effective doses of CT-guided intrathecal nusinersen administration to adult patients with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). ⋯ Radiation exposure of SMA patients measured as DRLs is generally not higher compared with patients without SMA despite severe anatomical hazards. Dose monitoring data may allow clinicians to stratify radiation risk, identify organs at risk, and adopt measures for specific radiation dose reduction.

Postoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) after microdiscectomy for lumbar disc herniation frequently shows spinal canal compression by the remaining annulus, which gradually decreases over time. Transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy (TELD) can remove the herniation with minimal trauma to surrounding soft tissue. We aim to identify this remodeling of annulus fibrosus and the change of disc signal after TELD. ⋯ One year after TELD, annulus remodeling was observed with an average of 67.7% of size reduction. The high signal intensity of residual mass at day 1 correlated with disc protrusion reduction at follow-up MRI. The percentage of disc protrusion reduction associated with the ODI at the final follow-up.

High-resolution vessel wall imaging (HRVWI) by MRI is a novel noninvasive imaging tool which provides direct information regarding vessel wall pathologies. The utility of HRVWI in differentiating various intracranial vasculopathies among ischemic stroke is still evolving. ⋯ HRVWI is a useful noninvasive adjunctive tool in the diagnostic evaluation of intracranial vasculopathies, with maximum benefit in ICAD and IVas subtypes.

Radiological scales predicting delayed cerebral ischemia in subarachnoid hemorrhage: systematic review and meta-analysis.
Delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI) is a severe complication of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). The extent of subarachnoid blood is a strong predictor of DCI and is frequently estimated with the Fisher scale, modified Fisher scale, or Hijdra sum score. It is unclear which scale has the strongest association with clinical DCI. To evaluate this, we performed a systematic review of the literature. ⋯ The Fisher scale, modified Fisher scale, and Hijdra sum score are all associated with clinical DCI. The risk of DCI, however, does not increase with increasing Fisher grade as opposed to the modified Fisher scale. Furthermore, the modified Fisher scale was more commonly significantly associated with DCI than the Fisher scale, which may advocate using the modified Fisher in future SAH-related studies.
