The study aimed to investigate the abnormal alterations of both the intra-regional brain activity and inter-regional functional connectivity (FC) in patients with subjective tinnitus (ST) using resting-state functional MRI (rs-fMRI) methods. ⋯ The present study revealed that ST patients had altered regional neural activity and inter-regional connectivity in partial auditory and non-auditory brain regions, mainly involving the default mode network and audio-visual network, which could further improve our understanding of the neuroimaging mechanism in ST.

All percutaneous minimally invasive disc treatments are typically indicated to contained disc herniations. Our study's aim is to evaluate prospectively the efficacy of ozone nucleolysis in the treatment of either contained or uncontained lumbar disc herniations. ⋯ Ozone nucleolysis is a safe cost-effective minimally invasive technique for treatment of contained and uncontained lumbar disc herniations.

Aneurysm recanalization constitutes a limitation in the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms using conventional bare platinum coils. The development of platinum coils coupled with hydrogel polymers aimed at decreasing the rates of recurrence by way of enhanced coil packing density and biological healing within the aneurysm. While enhanced occlusion and durability has been shown for the first generation hydrogel coils, their use was limited by technical challenges. Less data is available regarding the second-generation hydrogel coils which have been designed to perform like bare platinum coils. ⋯ The HEAT trial compares the durability, imaging, and clinical outcomes of the second-generation hydrogel versus bare platinum coils in the endovascular treatment of ruptured or unruptured intracranial aneurysms. The results of this trial may further inform current endovascular treatment guidelines based on observed long-term outcomes.

Vertebral augmentation procedures such as vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty are utilized in the treatment of vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). However, their capacity for providing analgesia, reducing disability, and improving quality of life in patients with osteoporotic VCFs remains a topic of debate. The objective of this narrative review is to summarize the latest evidence for the safety and efficacy of vertebral augmentation for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). ⋯ Vertebral augmentation is a safe procedure, with low rates of serious complications and no increase in subsequent post-treatment fracture risk.

To noninvasively evaluate the value of three-dimensional pseudo-continuous arterial spin labeling (3D pCASL) and diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) in diffuse gliomas grading as well as isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH) 1 mutation status. ⋯ Both 3D pCASL and DWI could be useful tools for distinguishing low- from high-grade diffuse gliomas and have the potential to differentiate different IDH1 mutation statuses of astrocytoma.
