Case Reports[Neuralgia of the pudendal nerve following violent trauma: analgesia by pudendal neuromodulation].
Pudendal neuralgia is a neuropathic disease which is predominantly caused by pelvic trauma with pressure or stretching strain of the pudendal nerve. The Nantes criteria are used for the differential diagnostics of this disease and therapy includes pressure-relieving and analgesic measures using laparoscopic or open decompression procedures. ⋯ A direct comparison of neuromodulative techniques revealed that PNM was superior resulting in almost complete freedom from pain. The PNM procedure could represent a therapeutic option for treatment of pudendal neuralgia.

[Interdisciplinary treatment of urological tumors: a mixed-method study].
From the medical viewpoint (oncology agreement) and also from that of patients (self-help groups) urological competence should be increased and the cooperation between medical disciplines should be improved. What does the medical cooperation really look like? The few studies which have been carried out concern the cooperation between general physicians and specialists although specialists, such as urologists and hemato-oncologists have not yet been investigated. These gaps should be closed by the study of interdisciplinary treatment of urological tumors (IBuTu study).

The public discussion on the future of the healthcare system has recognized that the gap between needs and financial possibilities for coverage is becoming increasingly larger due to increasing needs and reduced financial support. It can be assumed that due to reduced financial means and increasing demands on provision of service in healthcare and nursing, the time will come when prioritization will be necessary. The medical profession should prepare itself for this situation because prioritization is a long process.

Clinical Trial[Colovesical fistula caused by diverticulitis of the sigmoid colon: diagnosis and treatment].
Colovesical fistulas caused by diverticulitis of the sigmoid colon are a rare but complex disease for which there is so far no diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm. The goal of this retrospective study including long-term follow-up was to find an algorithm for the diagnosis and therapy of colovesical fistulas caused by diverticular disease. ⋯ The poppy seed test is the most reliable diagnostic method for the detection of colovesical fistulas. The one-stage resection of the fistula of the colon and bladder segment without protective colostomy is safe and feasible.
