[Anesthesia for vitreoretinal surgery using a retrobulbar catheter technique].
To evaluate peroperative pain management using a flexible spinal anesthesia catheter introduced into the retrobulbar space which allows injections of local anesthetics for vitreoretinal surgery. ⋯ The retrobulbar catheter technique is a procedure which allows multiple re-injections of local anesthetics; it provides adequate analgesia during surgery and rapid, effective and safe postoperative pain management.

Case Reports[Familiar case of granular dystrophy and oculocutaneous albinism].
A 35-year-old female patient with blurred vision since childhood, for which no treatment had been given, presented with poor visual acuity. She had white skin and fair yellow hair. There were several well circumscribed deposits in the central and anterior corneal stroma, and iris transillumination and foveal hypoplasia were evident. The clinical diagnosis was oculo-cutaneous albinism and granular corneal dystrophy. We found oculo-cutaneous albinism in two brothers and granular dystrophy in three brothers, the mother and a son. ⋯ Corneal dystrophy is an autosomal dominant disorder inherited independently of oculocutaneous albinism, which is inherited as an autosomal recessive condition. This is the first case report of granular dystrophy concurrent with oculocutaneous albinism.

Comparative Study[Preseptal and orbital cellulitis in childhood: response to intravenous antibiotics].
To evaluate retrospectively the response of preseptal and orbital cellulitis in children to empiric antibiotic treatment. ⋯ We found a high prevalence of acute dacryocystitis as a potential cause of the cellulitis. Children with preseptal and orbital cellulitis responded better to cefotaxime than to cefuroxime. The presence of acute dacryocystitis was associated with a lack of response to cefuroxime.
