Review Case Reports[Dysphagia in Forestier's disease (vertebral ankylosing hyperostosis)].
Forestier's disease is characterized by the formation of vertebral bridges which joint the ventral aspect of the vertebral bodies by ossification of the anterior vertebral longitudinal ligament. A 58-year-old man with idiopathic ankylotic hyperostosis had pronounced osteophytosis of the neck that produced the unusual symptom of dysphagia. The literature is reviewed and the pathogenic criteria, diagnosis, and therapy are discussed.

Case Reports[Tracheostomy as a solution for subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum with severe respiratory failure].
Subcutaneous emphysema and pneumomediastinum have many causes. Generally they course without severe pathophysiological complications and severe respiratory complications are rare. ⋯ A case is reported of a patient who underwent hip surgery under general anesthesia with tracheal intubation and later presented progressive dyspnea with subcutaneous emphysema and neuromediastinum. Tracheostomy yielded satisfactory results.

[Rendu-Osler-Weber disease (hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia). Report of 30 cases].
To study the prevalence and modes of presentation of hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT) in Cantabria, Spain. ⋯ The minimum prevalence of HHT in Cantabria is 1:12,200, Patients with recurrent nosebleed, particularly if a family history of epistaxis is present, should undergo exploration of the oral cavity for telangiectasia. Early diagnosis of HHT can help to avoid unnecessary diagnostic procedures and contribute to the early detection of associated visceral malformations. The treatment of HHT should be individualized.

Case Reports[Necrotizing fasciitis of the head and neck. Report of 4 cases of cervical necrotizing fasciitis].
Necrotizing fasciitis is a severe polybacteria infection characterised by necrosis of the fascial and adjacent soft tissues with rapid expansion of the infection along fascial planes. It may originate potentially fatal complications and often is accompanied by systemic toxicity. It is not a frequent entity in the head and neck, but early diagnosis is very important because early treatment based on intravenous antibiotherapy and aggressive surgical debridement can prevent complications that often cause the death of the patient. Pour reports of necrotizing fasciitis are presented, one of them with fatal outcome, which leads us to emphasize the importance of an early diagnosis.
