Sutureless aortic bioprostheses bear the potential of easy implantation, reduced ischemic time, and surgical trauma in aortic valve replacement. We herein show our clinical and echocardiographic results after a 1-year experience with a new sutureless bioprosthesis. ⋯ The Perceval S shows satisfactory clinical and hemodynamic results. Due to its simple implantation technique, it represents an alternative especially for minimally invasive surgery. Operative trauma can be minimized by short aortic cross-clamp time.

We reviewed our experience with valve-sparing aortic root reconstruction (VSARR) using the sinus of Valsalva graft in children, teenagers, and young adults with connective tissue disorders. ⋯ VSARR using the sinus of Valsalva graft is a reproducible technique that achieves acceptable early and intermediate results. It is suitable for children, teenagers, and young adults. Anticoagulation is avoided. The procedure is appropriate for emergency operations but should be used with caution in patients with a bicuspid aortic valve.

Outcomes after atrioventricular (AV) valve operations in patients with functional single ventricles are unclear. ⋯ AV valve regurgitation is a considerable burden for the patient with a single ventricle, especially when appearing at a young age. A quarter of patients died within the first year after operation, and they had considerable morbidity in terms of reoperation, thromboembolic events, and pacemaker implantation. Their chances of reaching Fontan completion seemed decreased.

We report a case of a giant right atrial myxoma mimicking the right ventricular tumor. The 75-year-old patient underwent cardiac surgery, and the tumor was excised along with the stalk. ⋯ The tumor may have caused intraventricular stenosis, hepatic dysfunction, and progressive fatigue as a result of low cardiac output. This case is of special interest because the myxoma was very large compared with those ever reported, and a right atrial myxoma occupying the right ventricular cavity is rare.
