McCune Albright Syndrome (MCAS) is an association of, Café-au-lait macules, polyostotic fibrous dysplasia and autonomous hyperfunctioning endocrinopathy. This is a rare disorder seen more commonly in females. We evaluated 7 (6F & 1M) cases under six years of age (4 months to 5.5 yrs) presenting with Café-au-lait spots, polyostotic fibrous dysplasia and/or sexual precocity. ⋯ Skeletal lesions and skin features did not show any change. No other endocrinopathy was noted. Gonadotropin independent precocious puberty was the only endocrine affection seen in this series.

Children with dengue fever presenting to the Institute of Social Pediatrics, Government Stanley Hospital, during the months of October to December 2001, were prospectively followed up for clinical profile and outcome. Commonest clinical features were fever, vomiting, bleeding, body pain and hepatomegaly. ⋯ Retro-orbital pain was slightly more in DHF and DSS groups and there was a tendency for DSS to present at an earlier age. There was no correlation between platelet counts and bleeding in classical dengue cases.

Impact of daily versus weekly hematinic supplementation on anemia in pregnant women.
To compare the effectivity of weekly versus daily iron therapy in reducing maternal anemia and to evaluate the association of maternal hemoglobin and fetal growth. ⋯ Weekly iron supplementation is an effective mode of treating anemia among pregnant women and maternal anemia during pregnancy is adversely associated with fetal growth.
