ReviewClinical prediction of genotypes in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy: A Systematic Review.
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common inherited cardiac condition and the most common cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in patients below the age of 35. Genetic testing is a vital part of HCM diagnostics, yet correlation with clinical phenotypes remains complex. Identifying clinical predictors of informative genetic testing may prevent unnecessary investigations and improve cost-effectiveness of services. This article reviews the current literature pertinent to identifying such predictors. ⋯ Using clinical predictors to decide whom to test is a feasible alternative to investigating all comers. Nonetheless, currently there is not enough evidence to unequivocally recommend for or against this strategy. Further validation of current predictors and identification of new ones remain open research avenues.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study6-year results of BiOSS stents in coronary bifurcation treatment.
The wide variation in bifurcation anatomy has generated an ongoing search for stents explicitly designed for coronary bifurcations, and to date, results have been underachieved. ⋯ At the 6-year follow-up, clinically significant clinical events did not differ between BiOSS stents and rDES.

ReviewΕndothelial and microvascular function in CKD: evaluation methods and associations with outcomes.
Cardiovascular disease is the major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Endothelial dysfunction, the hallmark of atherosclerosis, is suggested to be involved pathogenetically in cardiovascular and renal disease progression in these patients. ⋯ Older and newer functional methods and several biomarkers have assessed endothelial dysfunction in CKD; accumulated evidence supports an association of endothelial dysfunction with outcomes. Future research with new, non-invasive and easily applicable methods could further delineate the role of endothelial dysfunction on cardiovascular and renal disease progression in patients with CKD.

ReviewCardiorespiratory fitness is not associated with reduced risk of prostate cancer: A cohort study and review of the literature.
Cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) has a strong inverse relationship with several chronic disease outcomes, including some cancers. The association between CRF and prostate cancer is controversial. We aimed to assess the prospective association of CRF with prostate cancer risk using a cohort study and review of the literature. ⋯ Primary data and a review of previous studies suggest that elevated CRF is not associated with reduced prostate cancer risk. Previous findings of significant evidence of associations could be attributed to increased screening and detection as well as reverse causation bias.

The value of C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio in predicting long-term mortality among HFrEF patients with implantable cardiac defibrillators.
Patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) who received implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) still remain at high risk due to pump failure and prevalent comorbid conditions. The primary aim of this research was to evaluate the predictive value of C-reactive protein-to-albumin ratio (CAR) for all-cause mortality among patients with HFrEF despite ICD implantation. ⋯ Among patients with HFrEF and ICD, elevated CAR increased the risk of all-cause mortality at long term.
