Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Comparative Study
Clinical and cost-effectiveness of compression hosiery versus compression bandages in treatment of venous leg ulcers (Venous leg Ulcer Study IV, VenUS IV): a randomised controlled trial.
Drawbacks exist with the standard treatment (four-layer compression bandages) for venous leg ulcers. We have therefore compared the clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of two-layer compression hosiery with the four-layer bandage for the treatment of such ulcers. ⋯ NIHR Health Technology Assessment programme (07/60/26).

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study
Compression stockings to prevent post-thrombotic syndrome: a randomised placebo-controlled trial.
Post-thrombotic syndrome (PTS) is a common and burdensome complication of deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Previous trials suggesting benefit of elastic compression stockings (ECS) to prevent PTS were small, single-centre studies without placebo control. We aimed to assess the efficacy of ECS, compared with placebo stockings, for the prevention of PTS. ⋯ Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
