Review Meta Analysis
TLR4 polymorphism and periodontitis susceptibility: A meta-analysis.
Many primary and secondary studies reported the association between Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) polymorphism and periodontitis susceptibility, which mainly focused on TLR4-299A>G or TLR4-399C>T of Caucasian, however, these studies had different conclusions. The aim of this study was to reassess relative studies about TLR4 polymorphism and periodontitis susceptibility, and update meta-analysis. ⋯ The meta-analysis found association between TLR4C>G (rs7873784) allele and CP in Asian and it may passed on to offsprings in the form of recessiveness. However, further studies about the association between TLR4C>G (rs7873784) and CP is warranted to confirm.

Tumefactive multiple sclerosis (MS) is an unusual variant of demyelinating disease characterized by lesions with pseudotumoral appearance on radiological imaging mimicking other space-occupying lesions, such as neoplasms, infections, and infarction. Especially when the patient's medical history is incompatible with MS, the differential diagnosis between these lesions constitutes a diagnostic challenge often requiring histological investigation. An older age at onset makes distinguishing tumefactive demyelinating lesion (TDL) from tumors even more challenging. ⋯ TDL still remains a problematic entity clinically, radiologically, and sometimes even pathologically. A staged follow-up is necessary, and in our case, it revealed to be the most important attitude to define the nature of the lesion, confirming the classic MS diagnostic criteria of disseminate lesions in time and space. We discuss our findings according to the recent literature.

Review Case Reports
An unusual presentation of eruptive xanthoma: A case report and literature review.
Eruptive xanthomas are benign skin lesions caused by localized deposition of lipids in the dermis. The lesions are generally caused by elevated levels of serum triglycerides that leak through the capillaries and are phagocytosed by macrophages in the dermis. Clinical manifestation varies from asymptomatic skin lesions to intense pruritus and tenderness. ⋯ Appearance of eruptive xanthomas can signify the onset of serious complications. Prompt recognition of such skin manifestations is warranted to prevent development of fatal medical condition like coronary artery disease and pancreatitis.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Comparison of efficacy and safety of topical versus intravenous tranexamic acid in total hip arthroplasty: A meta-analysis.
The study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of topical versus intravenous (IV) tranexamic acid (TXA) for reducing blood loss in primary total hip arthroplasty (THA). ⋯ Topical TXA has a similar efficacy to IV-TXA in reducing both blood loss and transfusion rate without sacrificing safety in primary THA.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Randomized clinical trial comparing abluminal biodegradable polymer sirolimus-eluting stents with durable polymer sirolimus-eluting stents: Nine months angiographic and 5-year clinical outcomes.
The biodegradable polymer drug-eluting stents (DES) were developed to improve vascular healing. However, further data and longer-term follow-up are needed to confirm safety and efficacy of these stents. This randomized clinical trial aimed to compare safety and efficacy of 2 sirolimus-eluting stents (SES): Cordimax-a novel abluminal biodegradable polymer SES and Cypher Select-a durable polymer SES, at 9 months angiographic and 5-year clinical follow-up. ⋯ Abluminal biodegradable polymer SES is noninferior to durable polymer SES at 9-month angiographic and 1-year clinical follow-up. However, MACE rates from 2 to 5 years were less in the abluminal biodegradable polymer group.
