Review Meta Analysis
Prognostic and clinicopathological significance of cyclin B expression in patients with breast cancer: A meta-analysis.
Cyclin B plays a crucial role in cancer cell cycle progression and is overexpressed in many human cancers, including breast cancer. However, the prognostic value of cyclin B expression in breast cancer is controversial. We performed a meta-analysis to assess the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of cyclin B expression in breast cancer. ⋯ Cyclin B overexpression appears to be an independent potential prognostic marker to DSS and DFS for breast cancer. Further studies with large sample size are needed to dissect the relationship between cyclin B and clinicopathological features or prognosis of breast cancer.

Pancreatoduodenectomy (PD) is one of the most technically demanding operations challenging surgeons, and a postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) can complicate an otherwise uneventful postoperative (PO) course. This review examined the methods and procedures used to prevent postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) after pancreatoduodenectomy (PD). ⋯ The POPF-related mortality rate has remained at approximately 1% over the past 25 years. Only externally draining, trans-anastomotic stents decreased the POPF-related mortality rate. However, adequately designed venting drains were never tested in randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Review Case Reports
Bilateral carotid-cavernous fistula with spontaneous resolution: A case report and literature review.
Bilateral carotid-cavernous fistula (CCF) is rare and serious extra-ocular disease occurring in clinical which may result in severe complication. Unique manifestations and imaging examinations are important to the diagnosis. ⋯ Our case study demonstrated that a highly suspicion must be maintained when managing such patients to prevent serious consequences. At the same time, the early diagnosis and treatment of the disease have a critical relationship to the prognosis of patients, which should be paid attention to.

Review Meta Analysis
Continuous venovenous hemofiltration in the management of paraquat poisoning: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Paraquat (PQ) poisoning is a widespread occurrence, especially in underdeveloped areas. The treatment of PQ poisoning has always been difficult, and there is currently no definite effective treatment. Continuous venovenous hemofiltration (CVVH) treatment for PQ poisoning has been widely used in clinical practice; however, its effect remains uncertain. Accordingly, the purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy of CVVH in the treatment of PQ poisoning. ⋯ Although CVVH treatment might not noticeably reduce mortality for patients with PQ poisoning, it can prolong the survival time of the patients and improve the stability of the circulatory system, thereby enabling further treatment.

Review Meta Analysis
Pregabalin can decrease acute pain and morphine consumption in laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
Pregabalin has been used as an adjunct for the management of acute pain in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. This meta-analysis aimed to illustrate the efficacy and safety of pregabalin for pain management following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. ⋯ Pregabalin was efficacious in the reduction of postoperative pain, total morphine consumption, and morphine-related complications following laparoscopic cholecystectomy. In addition, a high dose of pregabalin was more effective than a low dose. The dose of pregabalin differed across the studies, and the heterogeneity was large. More studies are needed to verify the optimal dose of pregabalin in laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients.
