Osteoporosis is one kind of commonly and frequently occurring global disease accompanying with serious complications. As a branch of the subject of Acupuncture-Tuina, tuina is widely applied for osteoporosis alone or combined with other methods in China and other nations while its effective evidence is not clear. Hence, this systematic review protocol purpose is to evaluate the value of its efficacy and safety for osteoporosis. ⋯ This protocol will determine whether or not tuina is an effective and safety intervention for osteoporosis.

Thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) arthritis is a common disease. Various procedures have been described for the treatment of advanced thumb CMC arthritis. This essay shows a CMC arthritis case treated by modified trapeziectomy with ligament reconstruction tendon interposition (LRTI). ⋯ Modified trapeziectomy with LRTI in treatment of advanced thumb CMC arthritis had a satisfactory efficacy. This new procedure not only prevents thumb sinking, but also provides enough support for thumb.

Schwannomatosis has been linked to germline mutations in the SMARCB1 and LZTR1 genes, and is frequently associated with pain. In a cohort study, we assessed the mutation status of 37 patients with clinically diagnosed schwannomatosis and compared to clinical data, whole body MRI (WBMRI), visual analog pain scale, and Short Form 36 (SF-36) bodily pain subscale. We identified a germline mutation in LZTR1 in 5 patients (13.5%) and SMARCB1 in 15 patients (40.5%), but found no germline mutation in 17 patients (45.9%). ⋯ We found no significant difference in quantitative tumor burden between mutational groups, but spinal schwannomas were more common in LZTR1-mutant patients. Pain was significantly higher in LZTR1-mutant than in SMARCB1-mutant patients, though spinal tumor location did not significantly correlate with pain. This suggests a possible genetic association with schwannomatosis-associated pain.

Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) bloodstream infection (BSI) has become increasingly frequent threat recently, especially in the intensive care unit (ICU). High-dose tigecycline (TGC) regimen is proposed due to the limitation of treatment options. We investigated the efficacy and safety of high-dose TGC combination regimens for treating CRKP BSI. ⋯ In the multivariate analysis, multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS), vasoactive therapy, and exposure to carbapenems were regarded as the independent predictors of mortality. A therapeutic regimen consisting of a high dose of TGC was associated with significantly longer survival time and numerically lower mortality in CRKP BSI. Adverse events were not increased with the double dose therapy.

Recently, clinical application of 3D printed model was increasing. However, there was no systemic study for confirming the precision and reliability of 3D printed model. Some senior clinical doctors mistrusted its reliability in clinical application. ⋯ All the ICCs were greater than 0.990. The maximum absolute and relative difference were 0.45 mm and 1.10%; The 3-dimensional error analysis showed that positive/minus distance were 0.273 mm/0.237 mm. The application of SLA 3D printed model in diagnosis and treatment process of complex orthopedic disease was reliable and precise.
