Review Meta Analysis
Efficacy and safety of Kangfuxin liquid combined with aminosalicylic acid for the treatment of ulcerative colitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Kangfuxin liquid (KFXL) combined with aminosalicylic acid (ASA) in treating ulcerative colitis (UC). ⋯ KFXL combined with ASA has good therapeutic effect for UC and might be a safe approach in managing UC. More high-quality, multicenter randomized, double-blind trials with a large sample size are required to generate a high level of clinical evidence.

Review Meta Analysis
Efficacy and safety of oral tranexamic acid in total knee arthroplasty: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Tranexamic acid (TXA) is an antifibrinolytic drug widely used as a blood-sparing technique in total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and it is usually administrated by intravenous or intraarticular injection. Recently, the oral form of TXA has been applied in TKA patients. However, there is no final consensus regarding the effectiveness and safety of oral TXA. The purpose of this systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral TXA versus control for blood loss after TKA. ⋯ Our meta-analysis suggested that the administration of oral TXA provided significantly better results with respect to Hb drop, Hct drop, and drain output without increasing the transfusion rate and the risk of thromboembolic complications after TKA. Nevertheless, our current study with some limitations such as the small sample size only provided limited quality of evidence, confirmation from further meta-analysis with large-scale, well-designed RCTs is required.

Mulvihill-Smith syndrome is a rare sporadic condition that was first recognized in 1975. A total of 11 cases have been described in the literature. The aim of this study was to describe the orofacial signs and dental anomalies, their frequency, and the relationship between Mulvihill-Smith syndrome and other progeroid syndromes via a review of the literature. ⋯ Mulvihill-Smith syndrome is a clinically complex disease that may be caused by a single gene mutation. Numerous different tissues of the body are affected. This analysis of the orofacial signs may help clinicians to diagnose this rare pathology.

Review Case Reports
Contrast-enhanced ultrasound findings of gallbladder adenocarcinoma with sarcomatoid carcinoma accompanied by intrahepatic metastasis: A case report and literature review.
Gallbladder adenocarcinoma is the most common subtype of malignant tumor in gallbladder carcinoma; its incidence is quite low. Preoperative diagnosis of gallbladder adenocarcinoma appears to be very difficult because they are normally asymptomatic and are often found incidentally. Adenocarcinoma with sarcomatoid carcinoma of gallbladder is exceedingly rare with no case reported in the literature to date. ⋯ We presented a case report with gallbladder adenocarcinoma with sarcomatoid carcinoma accompanied by intrahepatic metastasis, focusing on the ultrasound imaging features of this tumor, especially its enhancement pattern on CEUS. CEUS provided helpful information for diagnosis. Herein, we report the case; and the associated literature is further reviewed.

Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a rare but life-threatening disease. Timely and proper treatments are the keys in saving patients' life and preventing from permanent neurological deficits. We performed this network meta-analysis to evaluate the role of anticoagulation in CVT, especially for the patients accompanied with hemorrhagic stroke. ⋯ Anticoagulant treatment with heparin is safe and beneficial for patients with CVT, even for those accompanied with hemorrhagic stroke. Besides, LMWH is better than UFH in the management of CVT.
