Comparative Study Observational Study
Comparison of postsurgical clinical sequences between completely embolized and incompletely embolized patients with wide nicked intracranial aneurysms treated with stent assisted coil embolization technique: A STROBE-compliant study.
The technique of stent-assisted coil embolization has been widely used in the clinic, while its efficacy and safety have yet to be evaluated. This study investigates the values of computed tomography angiography (CTA), magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and digital subtraction angiography (DSA) in evaluating the Enterprise stent-assisted coil embolization in the treatment of intracranial wide-necked aneurysm. A total of 578 intracranial wide-necked aneurysm patients confirmed by MRA + CTA + DSA examinations were included and treated with Enterprise stent-assisted coil embolization in this study. ⋯ Patients in the CE group enjoyed a higher good GOS rate but a lower incidence of complication than those in the IE group. In Enterprise stent-assisted coil embolization treatment, the Hunt-Hess grade, hypertension, and size of artery aneurysm were independent factors affecting the therapeutic effect of Enterprise stent-assisted coil embolization in intracranial wide-necked aneurysm. Compared with MRA, CTA shows a higher value in evaluating the therapeutic effect of Enterprise stent-assisted coil embolization for the treatment of intracranial wide-necked aneurysm, and can thus serve as an important means of predicting the therapeutic effect of endovascular intervention in treating patients with intracranial wide-necked aneurysm.

The effectiveness of culturally tailored video narratives on medication understanding and use self-efficacy among stroke patients: A randomized controlled trial study protocol.
A substantial number of the world's population appears to end with moderate to severe long-term disability after stroke. Persistent uncontrolled stroke risk factor leads to unpredicted recurrent stroke event. The increasing prevalence of stroke across ages in Malaysia has led to the adaptation of medication therapy adherence clinic (MTAC) framework. The stroke care unit has limited patient education resources especially for patients with medication understanding and use self-efficacy. Nevertheless, only a handful of studies have probed into the effectiveness of video narrative at stroke care centers. ⋯ The study should be able to determine if video narrative can induce a positive behavioral change towards stroke risk factor control via enhanced medication understanding and use self-efficacy. This intervention is innovative as it combines health belief, motivation, and role model concept to trigger self-efficacy in maintaining healthy behaviors and better disease management.

Clinical study on postoperative triple-negative breast cancer with Chinese medicine: Study protocol for an observational cohort trial.
Breast cancer (BC) poses a tremendous threat to the health of women worldwide, especially triple-negative breast cancers (TNBCs). Currently, the curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been recognized in more and more people worldwide; however, the specific effect has not been systematically evaluated. The purpose of this cohort study is to evaluate the clinical effects of TCM syndrome differentiation on recurrence and metastasis rate, survival rate, and the quality of life in patients with TNBC. ⋯ ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03332368).

Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious and potentially life-threatening acute complication of diabetes mellitus (DM). Euglycemic diabetic ketoacidosis (eDKA) is however challenging to identify in the emergency department (ED) due to absence of marked hyperglycemia, often leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment. eDKA has been recently found to be associated with sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, one of the newest classes of antidiabetics, though there are very limited reports implicating dapagliflozin as the offending agent in ED patients. Here we report a type 2 diabetic patient who presented to the ED with eDKA secondary to dapagliflozin administration. ⋯ Life-threatening eDKA as a complication of dapagliflozin is a challenging and easilymissed diagnosis in the ED. Such an ED presentation is very rare, nevertheless emergency physicians are reminded to consider the diagnosis of eDKA in a patient whose drug regimen includes any SGLT2 inhibitor, especially if the patient presents with nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dyspnea, lethargy, and is clinically dehydrated. These patients should then be investigated with ketone studies and blood gas analyses regardless of blood glucose levels for prompt diagnosis and treatment.

Comparative Study
Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) combined with γ-knife compared to TACE or γ-knife alone for hepatocellular carcinoma.
To compare the clinical efficacies and adverse reactions between transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), γ-ray 3-dimensional fractionated stereotactic conformal radiotherapy (FSCR), and TACE combined with FSCR for primary hepatocellular carcinoma. The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board, and informed consent was waived due to the retrospective study design. About 121 patients met the inclusion criteria and were included in this study, from March 2008 to January 2010, in the Second Xiangya Hospital. ⋯ There were statistically significant differences (P = .010) of leukopenia between the 3 groups, and no statistically significant differences of (P > .05) thrombocytopenia, anemia, nausea, vomiting, and liver function lesions. TACE combined with γ-knife for primary hepatocellular carcinoma is superior to TACE or γ-knife alone in short-term and long-term effects. This procedure is a mild, safe, and effective treatment for primary hepatocellular carcinoma.
