Apatinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that selectively inhibits the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2. A weighted pooled analysis was performed to evaluate the clinical outcome, efficacy, and toxicity of apatinib in patients with advanced nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that failed prior treatment with chemotherapy or epidermal growth factor receptor-TKIs (EGFR-TKIs). ⋯ Apatinib has promising antitumor activity and manageable toxicity profile in patients with advanced NSCLC that failed prior chemotherapy or EGFR-TKIs. This result needs to be confirmed through the ongoing Phase III clinical trial.

Metastasis-associated gene 1 (MTA1) is correlated with prognosis of many tumors. However, little is known about the role of MAT1 in endometriosis and its relationship with the recurrence of endometriosis. The expression of MTA1 in normal, eutopic and ectopic endometrium was detected by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR, respectively. ⋯ While, postoperative pregnancy was a protective factor for its relapse. MTA1 is closely associated with the occurrence and development of Ems. Thus, MTA1 level may be used as a new indicator to predict the progression of endometriosis.

Association study of gut flora in Wilson's disease through high-throughput sequencing.
In this study, we analyzed the difference of intestinal flora polymorphisms between Wilson's disease (WD) patients and healthy people by high-throughput sequencing technology, and explored the correlation between WD and intestinal flora polymorphism. A total of 22 cases of WD patients and 22 healthy persons as control were recruited. The total DNA was extracted from the fecal specimens of all the subjects, V4 high variable region of 16S rRNA gene was amplified and sequenced by high-throughput sequencing. ⋯ Compared with the control group at the level of the genus, the abundance of Bacteroides (4.85% vs 4.6%, P < .05), Faecalibacterium (2.92% vs 2.13%, P < .05), Megamonas (0.84% vs 0.22%, P < .001), Lachnospira (0.16% vs 0.09%, P < .001) significantly increased in WD group, while the abundance of Prevotella (1.63% vs 2.48%, P < .001), Roseburia (0.75% vs 1.39%, P < .001) and Phascolarctobacterium (1.72% vs 2.45%, P < .001) significantly decreased in WD group. PCoA and UPGMA tree analysis showed that there were significant differences of gut microbial compositions between the 2 groups. The diversity and composition of intestinal flora in the WD patients were significantly lower than those in the healthy controls, and the diversity of intestinal flora may be associated with the presence of WD.

It is difficult to repair knee deep burn wounds in elderly patients. In this study, we observed the therapeutic effects of descending genicular artery-saphenous artery perforator flaps on knee deep burn wounds in elderly patients. Between December 2013 and February 2018, we repaired knee third-degree burn wounds using descending genicular artery-saphenous artery perforator flaps of 20 × 12 cm to 23 × 13 cm in 56 elderly patients. ⋯ In the 8 patients with completely necrotic patella and patellar ligament as well as open knee joint, the weight-bearing function of knee joint was retained, which met patients' requirements of limb salvage and weight-bearing function. In the other 48 patients with partially necrotic patella and patellar ligament as well as open joint capsule, the postoperative flexion and extension of the knee joint were good. In elderly patients, it is an effective method to repair knee deep burn wounds using the descending genicular artery-saphenous artery perforator flaps.

The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of 3-dimensional (3D) ultrasonography and 3D color power Doppler ultrasound in the management of cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP). A case-control study enrolled 190 CSP patients who underwent uterine artery embolization (UAE) in combination with dilatation and curettage (D&C). The maximum diameter of gestational sac or CSP mass, uterine scar thickness, and resistance index (RI) were measured by 2D ultrasound. ⋯ The diagnostic efficacy of VI was significantly higher than maximum diameter (P = .020) and RI (P = .011). UAE reduces the number of vessels and the blood flow perfusion obviously; however, it does not reduce lesion size or increases myometrial thickness. Three-dimensional ultrasonography and power Doppler, especially VI, lesion volume may be helpful in predicting excessive bleeding during D&C after UAE.
