Dual aneurysms arising from the internal cerotic artery (ICA) is a very rare occurrence. Clinoid segment aneurysms (CSAs) are often seen at the carotid dural rings while cavernous carotid aneurysms (CCAs) are often a direct communication between the ICA and the cavernous sinus (CS). We present a case of complex concomitant occurrence of a CSA and a CCA complicated with delay aneurysmal rupture (DAR) resulting in carotid cavernous fistula (CCF) after our initial treatment of the patient with pipeline embolization devices (PLEDs) PATIENT CONCERNS:: We present a 64-year old female who we admitted at our institution due to one-year history of double vision. Neurological examinations were unremarkable. ⋯ PLED was the best endovascular treatment option though DAR was inevitable. Although the trans-arterial approach may be the gold standard for the managing of CCF, the complex nature of our case made us opt for trans-venous approach. The trans-venous route is very appropriate for fistulas with complex parent arteries.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and clinical effectiveness of endovascular stent repair of celiac arterial aneurysm (CAA). From January 2015 to December 2018, 11 patients (7 males, 4 females with a mean age of 52.2 ± 7.9 years) underwent endovascular stent repair of CAA in our center. A covered stent was used to occlude the CAA neck. ⋯ No endoleaks were experienced during follow-up with 100% stent patency rate. No patient suffered splenic, hepatic, or bowel infarction during follow-up. Endovascular stent repair is a safe, simple, and effective treatment for patients with CAA.

High peroxidasin-like expression is a potential and independent prognostic biomarker in breast cancer.
Breast cancer is a frequent female malignant tumor with high mortality and poor prognosis. Peroxidasin like (PXDNL) has many biological functions, including characteristic activity of hormone biosynthesis, host defense, and cell motility. In addition, PXDNL is closely connected with the progression of breast cancer. ⋯ Survival analysis indicated that patients with breast cancer with high PXDNL expression generally had decreased overall survival/relapse-free survival. Univariate/multivariate Cox model analyses further suggested an association between PXDNL expression and prognosis of patients with breast cancer. High PXDNL expression is a potential and independent prognostic biomarker in breast cancer.

The suction-assisted laryngoscopy assisted decontamination technique toward successful intubation during massive vomiting simulation: A pilot before-after study.
This study demonstrated a training program of the suction-assisted laryngoscopy assisted decontamination (S. A. L. ⋯ L. A. D. technique training could efficiently help EMT-P performing endotracheal intubation during massive vomiting simulation.

High-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC) is the most prevalent and malignant ovarian tumor. To identify co-expression modules and hub genes correlated with platinum-based chemotherapy resistant and sensitive HGSOC, we performed weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) on microarray data of HGSOC with 12 resistant samples and 16 sensitive samples of GSE51373 dataset. ⋯ Given that the black module was validated to be the most related one, hub genes of this module, alcohol dehydrogenase 1B, cadherin 11, and vestigial like family member 3were revealed to be expressional related with platinum resistance, and could serve as prognostic markers for ovarian cancer. Our analysis might provide insight for molecular mechanisms of platinum-based chemotherapy resistance and treatment response in ovarian cancer.
