Neck pain is a common discomfort or more intense forms of pain in the cervical region. Neck pain has a large impact on individuals and their families, communities, healthcare systems, and businesses throughout the world. Therapeutic strategies are widely used for patients with neck pain in clinical practice, but the effectiveness of each therapeutic strategy is still unclear. The aim of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of therapeutic strategies for neck pain. ⋯ PROSPERO (CRD42019102385).

p16 protein is significantly down-regulated in several cancers, which reveals that it may be a potential biomarker for cancers. However, the clinicopathological and prognostic value of p16 protein in nasopharynx cancer patients remains unclear. Therefore, we performed a meta-analysis to assess the relationships of p16 protein expression with the clinicopathological features and prognosis of nasopharynx cancer. ⋯ The meta-analysis revealed that downregulated p16 expression was significantly associated with the risk, lymph node metastasis, TNM-stage, distant metastasis, and T stage of nasopharynx cancer. No significant association between p16 protein expression and prognosis of nasopharynx cancer was found. However, additional high-quality and multicenter studies should be conducted to validate these findings in the future.

Effects of intraoperative propofol-based total intravenous anesthesia on postoperative pain in spine surgery: Comparison with desflurane anesthesia - a randomised trial.
As reported, patients experience less postoperative pain after propofol-based total intravenous anesthesia (TIVA). In the present study, we investigated the postoperative analgesic effects between propofol-based TIVA and desflurane anesthesia after spine surgery. ⋯ Patients anesthetized with propofol-based TIVA reported less pain during coughing and consumed less daily and total PCA fentanyl after lumbar spine surgery.

Influence of endurance and endurance-strength training on mineral status in women with abdominal obesity: a randomized trial.
Obesity and exercise are associated with disturbances of mineral metabolism, which can lead to physical inefficiency. Our study aimed to compare the influence of endurance and endurance-strength training on mineral status in women with abdominal obesity. ⋯ Both endurance and endurance-strength training have a significant effect on mineral metabolism in obese women; the favorable effects of endurance-strength exercise predominate in iron, magnesium, zinc, and copper balance.

The prognostic value of left ventricular systolic function and cardiac biomarkers in pediatric severe sepsis.
Echocardiography and cardiac biomarkers, such as cardiac troponin I (cTnI) and N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-pro BNP) are useful tools to evaluate cardiac dysfunction. Left ventricular systolic dysfunction (LVSD) is common in pediatric severe sepsis. The aim of this study is to evaluate the prognostic value of LVSD, cTnI, and NT-pro BNP for pediatric severe sepsis. ⋯ LVSD occurs frequently in pediatric with severe sepsis. The 28-day mortality rate of severe sepsis was also high. In this study, none of LVSD, cTnI, and NT-proBNP was associated with the prognosis of pediatric severe sepsis.
