Colorectal cancer (CRC) is an extremely common gastrointestinal malignancy. The present study aimed to identify microRNAs (miRNAs) and transcription factors (TFs) associated with tumor development. ⋯ The present study identified hub miRNAs and miRNA-related TF regulatory networks in CRC, which might be potential targets for the diagnosis and treatment of CRC.

Inferior vena cava diameter measurements and BUN/creatinine values to determine dehydration in patients with hip fractures preoperatively: A prospective observational study.
Dehydration is a common problem in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery. Sonographic inferior vena cava (IVC) diameter measurement evaluates to estimate volume status. The aim of the study to evaluate the relationship between IVC measurements (expiratory diameter of IVC, collabsibility index [CI], inspiratory diameter of IVC) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN)/creatinine ratio in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery. ⋯ No correlations of BUN/creatinine ratio with CI and IVC expiratory diameter were found (as r = -0.262 [P = .163]; [r = 0.206, P = .274]; respectively). There were not any correlation in linear regression analysis model between BUN/Cr ratio according to independent variables (Age, CI, IVCmax, IVCmin) (P = .108, P = .419, P = .282, P = .257; respectively). No discriminatory relationship was found between the bedside ultrasonographic measurement of IVC parameters and BUN/creatinine ratio in patients underwent hip fracture surgery to predict the preoperative dehydration.

The immune responses involved in the pathogenesis of idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) have not been fully understood. Calcineurin, a key signaling enzyme in T-cell activation, may be implicated in IMN. The present study aimed to investigate the role of calcineurin B1 subunit (CnB1) in IMN and the potential mechanism. ⋯ Knockdown of CnB1 in Jurkat cells inhibited the nuclear factor of activated T cells (NFAT)-regulated gene expression required for T-cell activation. Our study suggested the potential role of CnB1 in the occurrence of IMN. The mechanism maybe involved the effect of CnB1 on the T-cell activation mediated by calcineurin-NFAT signaling.

The aim of this analysis is to investigate the level of T cell subsets in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and the effect of low-dose interleukin 2 (IL-2). This is a retrospective cohort study, we collected basic information, inflammatory markers, BASDAI scores, and T lymphocyte subsets of peripheral blood in patients with AS, baseline analysis, correlation analysis and comparative analysis before and after treatment were performed. Data from 73 patients (of these, 36 patients were treated with IL-2) and 85 the health were included. ⋯ Increase in ratio of Th17/CD4 Treg involved in the occurrence of AS. At the same time, low-dose IL-2 could decrease the ratio of Th17/CD4 Treg in short time, low-dose IL-2 can be used to treat autoimmune diseases to avoid adverse reactions caused by immunosuppressants. Further clinical study is needed on the efficacy of IL-2.
