Case Reports
Progressive sacroiliitis due to accessory sacroiliac joint mimicking ankylosing spondylitis: A case report.
An accessory sacroiliac (SI) joint usually has little clinical significance. However, severe arthritic changes can cause chronic buttock or low back pain and can be misdiagnosed as another disease presenting with sacroiliitis such as ankylosing spondylitis (AS). ⋯ An accessory SI joint can be a cause of chronic back pain and can be misdiagnosed as AS with sacroiliitis when progressive arthritic changes are observed. Therefore, additional imaging studies other than conventional X-ray or MRI may be required for accurate diagnosis.

Observational Study
Inferior vena cava diameter measurements and BUN/creatinine values to determine dehydration in patients with hip fractures preoperatively: A prospective observational study.
Dehydration is a common problem in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery. Sonographic inferior vena cava (IVC) diameter measurement evaluates to estimate volume status. The aim of the study to evaluate the relationship between IVC measurements (expiratory diameter of IVC, collabsibility index [CI], inspiratory diameter of IVC) and blood urea nitrogen (BUN)/creatinine ratio in patients undergoing hip fracture surgery. ⋯ No correlations of BUN/creatinine ratio with CI and IVC expiratory diameter were found (as r = -0.262 [P = .163]; [r = 0.206, P = .274]; respectively). There were not any correlation in linear regression analysis model between BUN/Cr ratio according to independent variables (Age, CI, IVCmax, IVCmin) (P = .108, P = .419, P = .282, P = .257; respectively). No discriminatory relationship was found between the bedside ultrasonographic measurement of IVC parameters and BUN/creatinine ratio in patients underwent hip fracture surgery to predict the preoperative dehydration.

Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), as the most widely used biomarker of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), was correlated with ongoing liver damage. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of inflammatory correction-based AFP to identify HCC from other liver diseases. From March 2012 to March 2017, among 926 participants, a total of 501 patients whose transaminases were higher than the upper limit of normal range, including 166 treatment-naïve HCC patients were enrolled in our retrospective study. ⋯ What's more, AFP/(AST*ALT) had a significant positive and moderate correlation with tumor diameter and presence of cancerous emboli or not (Spearman correlation coefficients were 0.323 and 0.305, respectively; both P < .001). For predicting HCC, the optimal cut-off value of AFP/(AST*ALT) is 1.603, and the sensitivity and specificity were 82.8% and 72.7%, respectively, which were significantly higher than the AFP and AFP/WBC. The serum AFP levels based on correction of liver inflammation can effectively improve the diagnostic performance of HCC, providing a new indicator that is simple, economical and pervasive for clinic.

Childhood obesity has been shown to be closely related to future obesity and comorbidities. As its prevalence and impact has increased significantly worldwide, researchers have focused on prevention and intervention. This study assessed a multifaceted intervention for elementary school children. ⋯ Students with higher zBMI had a greater reduction in all anthropometrics; students with lower zBMI showed greater PF improvement, except for the 800-m run. The intervention improved weight measures, body composition, and PF. Subgroup differences suggested the need for sex- and weight-specific interventions.

Effectiveness of music therapy with relaxation technique on stress management as measured by perceived stress scale.
Living in Nigerian environment is enough stress. In our time, many students could not cope with the stress of school environment like ours and others are still suffering from different health problems attributed to stress. Based on this, we investigated the effect of music therapy with relaxation technique on stress management among university students in southeastern Nigeria. ⋯ The findings of this study suggest that the efficacy of music therapy with relaxation technique for improving the students' stress management can be consistent at follow-up. Hence, music therapists, counsellors and psychotherapists should continue to investigate the beneficial effects of music therapy with relaxation on stress management among university students in every part of the world.
